Saul Smith is very disappointing, but whatever; his decision.

If true, I'm not a fan. But, yes - his decision. Just better get it done because this spends up a lot of goodwill.

Maybe he's following in the footsteps of some Hall of Famers like Ray Meyer, Bobby Knight, and Gene Bartow. Coach in waiting! 03-lmfao

Last time Orlando took a new job and tried to hire real assistant he ended up getting sued for $1.25 million. So he just takes his son and his other two buds with him where ever he goes.

Since 2011 their average recruiting class has been 88th in the nation.

Kinda what I was thinking. Nobody here knows anything about Saul or even met the guy. Yet, because his last name is 'Smith', that automatically means he's garbage and Tubby is just doing this for nepotism...

Retaining ANY coaching staff will be a welcome change from the annual turnover rate we've seen.

Site like these are amusing. That's why I visit when time permits. I've never understood the troll mentality, but I'm learning to just let them have their say. Funnier stuff than Larry the Cable Guy.

Good luck Coach Smith. I have faith you can dig us out of the crap the last coach left. It's good to be a Memphis Tiger!

Not true on recruiting rankings. Plus, very selective on the timeline - 5 years for a guy with a 25 year career.

He took his son and his other two buds to the tournament this season with a bunch of stiffs.

If you know CBB and watched his team, they were athletic. Not a bunch of stiffs at all. Maybe he got lucky recruiting (like Rodney Carney) but he had some players.

A coach who has taken 5 teams, every where he has been, to the dance and you say he 'got lucky'.

You have a serious case of buthurt.

Yep -- watched Tubby's Texas Tech beat a #3 Oklahoma team -- he had 3 top 25 wins w/ those 'stiffs' last year.

Word from the street from the clown car occupants is he can't recruit. So maybe these guys all walked on.

All he has to do is win three more games than JP to get us out of "the crap"? Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I don't know whether Saul is a good assistant or not, but I do know he has more experience than our previous head coach
