Thats the reality. When every sportscaster talks about the P5 they are not talking about the AAC .... The average fan does not see a difference among the non p5 nor can they name what school is even in what conference.

Ive said it once and Ill say it again... Aresco needs to get REAL proactive. In 2019 there will be three contracts up for bidding.
The AAC, The MWC and BYU. I dont see BYU joining full time with ANYONE that isnt P5. Their contract is small and will stay with ESPN. That leaves two conferences which at this point have close to equal monetary payout.

So we need to raid them. Make the AAC the only conference worth anything. Air Force, Colorado St., UNLV and SDSU make a western division that is interesting,is competitive and has markets. They also add three schools that make the NCAA tourney pretty regularly.

Then we offer BYU the Notre Dame package. 6 football games (but still indy) and a full member in all other sports. We also offer Army a scheduling agreement for 6 football games but they remain in the colonial for everything else. (which gives us the perception of having all the academies)

This setup would make the American a national conference, with even more major markets, strengthen basketball and add alot of interest. BYU and Army are games that people watch. It will increase viewership and I gurantee we triple our contract or maybe a little more. $6 million isnt anything to party over but it would be more then well get if the MWC remains. We take those 4 and theres honestly not a conference left that can even attempt to make a P6 claim.
