I can see some value in it. For marketing purposes, and sociology, knowing exactly why it is people watch some particular form of crap could be really useful.

What I find kind of sad about this fool is how she had an absolutely great gig - getting paid well to write and teach about Martha Stewart and Twilight - at a top-tier program and threw it away in a fit of enraged entitlement. And probably really does think she's a victim of malicious others. Sometimes I wonder if the Red Chinese had it right, that you should have to do a hitch of manual labor before you can become an intellectual.

That statement is confusing. Is she suggesting it's politically easier to fire a white faculty member involved in black students protests than a black faculty member? She should turn in her progressive card if she dares suggests any disadvantage of being white.

I personally don't think Click should have been fired, but the complaining that she was hired for political reasons is just hilarious.

These protestors ousted a university president because he apparently wasn't getting angry enough about a poop swastika and some alleged usage of the N-word on campus. Threatening the jobs of people that offend people is the MO of crazy college SJWs.

Do I think her transgression was a fireable offense - in any sane country, not close. However, with that said, the SJW's here in the US have lost their collective minds and it is just too appropriate that this liberal lunatic got caught by the very same stuff she was championing. Now she's crying victimhood - exactly the response one would expect.

It's hard to fathom how anyone could borrow money to attend the useless stuff she teaches. Her interests should be taught 1 night a week at the local YMCA for "those with an interest" - not as part of a University's curriculum. Her employment in the first place is part of why college costs are out of control.

You (as a faculty member) threaten/encourage violence against a student, you're gone. Any political content is irrelevant.

Her getting fired was just as reasonable at the president resigning.

I do take some solace that she had to go elsewhere to get that PhD. in martha stewart though, so I'll attribute her mental disorder to wherever that was.

preach it. those two rights "free speech" and "not to be offended" can not co-exist together as they are at odds with each other. And since the right to free speech is guaranteed in the Constitution, those who champion the right to not be offended can suck it.
