37 rb looked good

Santa is going to be one heck of a QB for us.

Brown (the RB) moved to WR

They threw to the TEs

Great turnout, wish I could have spent the whole day.

Current skybox capacity is 122 + 32 sky club seats.

I hope you are right about Santa. I didn't think he looked very good today. Graham was not great either. Unfortunately, based off what I saw today I think the Huskies are in trouble if Hare is not good to go. I was really disappointed with what I saw from Childers. Granted it was only an hour or two, so hopefully they are better than they showed today. Maddie looked decent, but he has had a few years of proving he is not very good. On a positive note, Buirge and Mister looked really good.

RE: Huskie Bowl - Who's going?
We have to give Maddie his props, he looked great today. He finished 15 for 19 for 186 yards and one of the incompletions was a beautiful deep ball that hit Christian Blake right in stride in the end zone. Blake couldn't hang on when he got mugged by the DB but that was a great throw.

Graham is an interesting case. He goes along looking pretty steady, nothing spectacular, and then throws one right to Grady. If not for that I probably would have given him a solid B grade for good game manager stuff. That throw can't happen though.

Santa didn't have much in the way of stats today but he is a lot of fun to watch. I saw him twice this spring and believe his ceiling is very high. He has a chance to be a great, great QB in our system. His TD throw to Stendler was real nice.

None of the other QBs did anything of note. Hare did not dress. Fiedler, Rotherham and Childers were all on the same team with Graham so they only got a few reps each. The other team had just Maddie and Santa splitting reps. Rotherham's pick was not his fault. He made a good throw that went through DJ Brown's hands to Mashack.

Most of the runningbacks did nice things. Bouagnon, Keith Harris and of course Huff did not dress. Jones, Mister, Milton and Todd all had their moments. Hoosman did not but it was one of those days where he got killed by two or three defenders the second he got the ball, pretty much every time he touched it. He did not get a chance to show what he can do. I don't know how many touches Milton gets this fall, probably not many at all, but he had a real good day today. He's a tough little guy.

Stendler and Crawford had some nice catches at tight end today. I can't remember how much Wimann played if at all but those guys stood out. I saw Harmston playing some but did not notice Tolliver.

Kenny G did not dress and Deucee Turner and Beebe only played a little bit at the beginning so the backups got a lot of work. Saffold and Blake stood out for me.

There were a lot of O-line combos on the day. Not a lot to report there since it was not the ones vs the ones like a regular scrimmage. Ryan Roberts was playing left tackle and looking pretty good for someone new to the position. He will probably be in the competition to succeed Levon Myers there next year.

Quite a few defenders who would ordinarly be in the hunt for playing time did not play today. Corey Thomas and Albert Smalls were not dressed. Ladell Fleming, Sean Folliard, Jamaal Payton, Jawuan Johnson, Shawun Lurry and Anthony Brooks played little or not at all.

Herlandez Corley made a few nice plays on the D line. We need more guys to step up there so it will be great if he does that. Kyle Pugh made some plays as did Lance Deveaux. As with Santa I've been impressed with Deveaux at linebacker each time I've seen him. He really flies around out there.

For Santa being a RS Fr with zero D1 snaps I thought he looked good.

For Graham being the #2 guy all season and starting 2-3 games I thought he looked ok at best.

Looking at the stats I guess I missed the Maddie show...athletics says 15 for 15 but there was that bomb in the endzone the went incomplete due to a well defended play. I thought it was thrown by Maddie so maybe I was just too distracted to see who was who. ...ah it was a typo. 15 for 19 I see.

HFF:
Baker, STF & Carey spoke. There was appreciation for everyone's support.
Baker & STF both acknowledged the "state" situation but nothing specific was shared as far as future plans.

Maybe others here may be privy to something more....

RE: Huskie Bowl - Who's going?
Only thing about the QB situation I would say is like most teams our season is dependent on how healthy Drew Hare is when the season starts. I was encouraged at the donor event Carey did say that Hare did get some work out there this spring. He did say without a doubt he is our starter going into the season. That tells me he is on a path to recovery where he will be fully ready when the season starts if he isn't already. Perhaps he did more this spring than we even know?

At practice our young tight ends looked outstanding. Agreed Saffold will probably be equivalent to TLL at least from a speed perspective not necessarily results, we'll see. Christian Blake looks like he has improved tremendously. Expect big things from him ahead. D.J. Brown will be exceptional once he learns the position more. I equate him to Ducee Turner 2 years ago.

All the backup QB's have a lot of work to do. Santa looked ok..per HJ, given where he is at career wise. Difficult to say what becomes of him yet, although while he didn't have completions his arm strength looked superb. To me from his high school days it's all about his decision making ability. I was somewhat disappointed in both Graham and Maddie to tell you the truth. Given they took most the snaps in spring ball, neither one still stood out to me. Childers is raw, but give him a break, he is a freshman I think who is just learning the system. He does have potential.

That #37 Milton looked like a real nice little player out there. Backfield is crowded but would be good to get him out on the field in some form. Tommy Mister is going to be a monster back for us. Agreed we need to get him the ball....a lot. Marcus Jones is also going to be a fine back for us going forward and as a spot fill in this year.

On the defense to me one standout was Kyle Pugh. That guy can motor and he can hit. Very impressive. We need to get him on the field this year. Hill also stood out to me on the defense side of the ball with some good coverage. Although I think he would have been called for interference in a real game at least once. Ruben Dunbar looks even more fit than last year if possible, if the guy keeps his head on straight he will give offensive lines nightmares this year.

My son had a great time out there this year. It was very smart by the AD to schedule a baseball game on the same day as the spring game. Many people said that was the biggest baseball attendance they had seen in a long time. Actually my son and my wife stayed for the whole baseball game while I went to the practice as he won and autographed baseball from the team and got to run the bases after the game. The players went up to him after the game I guess and he was thrilled.

Baseball team looks to be on the rise after a slow start to the season. They looked pretty good out there.

Just a beautiful day out there. That's my report.

RE: Huskie Bowl - Who's going?
It will be interesting to see who is the middlle linebacker this year. Boomer is gone. Payton is heir apparent but Kyle Pugh might be an option.

Saffold does look very fast, but slows down and dances too much in space. Speaking of Saffold being fast, I may have had a bad angle on his TD, but sutton smith looked very fast as a LB in pursuit.
While Maddie was accurate with his passes, he seems a half tick late in pulling the trigger.
Biggest stand out for me were the young TE's of the Black team.
Any word on Misters shoulder injury? He looks very solid. more of a Bouagnon style runner.

Interesting commentary...I am not sure what more Maddie could have done; his stats were outstanding...also, you say Santa didn't have any completion; the write up claims he was 4-6 with one TD pass. Outside of Hare, all the QB's are raw based on game experience.

I know for sure Santa threw 2 completions to Buirge who looked good (fast) and a td late to a TE !!

I thought the same thing about Sutton Smith. He was a RB coming out of HS though so maybe not surprising!
