Duke's Jefferson gets medical hardship approval
The return of Amile Jefferson would give Duke arguably the strongest roster of upperclassmen in the country. A likely starting lineup could look like this:

Amile Jefferson.......Sr.....6'-8" PF
Matt Jones.............Sr.....6'-4" SG
Sean Obi...............Jr......6'-9" PF (Rice transfer)
Grayson Allen........Jr......6'-4" SG
Frank Jackson........Fr.....6'-3" PG

Bench includes Luke Kennard, Chase Jeter, and five star recruits Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum and Javin DeLaurier among others.

Don't they have to be viewed as the ACC favorite, and an NC contender?

I'd make Duke the preseason #1.

Wonder if the WVa transfer to NC State that played in only the first game until he broke his leg will get another year - probably not.

Still gotta go with Villanova as #1 but Duke is right behind them...you have a group of teams-(Kentucky, Louisville, Kansas, North Carolina and Xavier) on the next tier.

Is this a comparable situation? If 2015-16 counts as a redshirt year for Henderson, then he should still have two seasons of eligibility left even without a medical hardship appeal.

If both Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins withdraw from the NBA draft, Nova returns a good team. But I don't see them as a #1 seed next year. If either or both of those players turn pro, they might not be a Sweet Sixteen team. They already lost Arcidiacono and Ochefu to graduation.
