I assume you are excited about the choice. Is that accurate?

So all three announced coaches have former ties to UALR.

That definitely is new ground for our program. Hope it works out well. I believe it will.

Initial results will be in at that point, but most coaching staffs are not judged by their first year. I guess unless they win 30 games. While no one expects 30 wins, I think most expect a "good" season if everyone returns. I know Wes expects it of himself.

We should know after first 10 games if it's going to be a good season. If we are 8-2 or maybe 7-3 it should be another exciting year

Sure those kind of records would probably indicate a good year coming. But like everything else, we've got to wait to see the strength of the schedule. A weak OOC schedule could make that kind of record deceptive. A strong OOC schedule might mean a record less than that is a better team. All you have to do is look to the NW part of the state to see this play out. Whipping up in home games in bought games against relatively weak competition and losing to all the decent teams on the schedule doesn't get you very far!

If we go undefeated in league play, we'll know we've had a good season. Plus win the conference tournament.

Kinda like having a baby in the old days, "we'll know if it's a boy or a girl in nine months or so.

I didn't realize Solo's dad played high school basketball at Little Rock Parkview. Interesting. Well we'll full of Parkview connections. Wes played there for his dad, and Solo's dad played there. This staff should certainly be able to recruit Parkview players.

Solo recruited Jaylen Franklin from P'view to Abilene Christian. Jaylen had a great year this past year - and he's a good kid, character-wise. Hopefully he'll be able to keep players like that in LR.

Will Solo be our first coach with a bow tie on the sideline? (if he wears one here)

I thought he was going to a prom after the game.
