Do we get new uniforms to kick off the new Tubby Smith era! I would move as far away from the Josh Pastner era as possible. To me the Josh Pastner era represents teams known to be soft and weak. We need to regain our old image of toughness.
As with the football team, we gained a new and improved image with new football uniforms.

In the behind the scenes first day on the job video he was taken into the locker room where each uniform was on display and he commented on the different uniforms including the throwback Memphis script one.

He said he lets the players and equipment managers decide.

That doesn't answer your question, he may very well work with Nike for a refresh. They could use one.

I really liked the Antonio Burks/Billy Richmond unis around 2002-2003.

I hope we wear the throwbacks more. Hopefully with Bob Winn out of the picture now we can wear the ones like Keith Lee wore in the 80s

I would love more Home Grey. The black jersey's are completely eh, but the throwbacks are solid.

I doubt that the team will wear anything with Memphis State on it for a while. It seems like the university is still trying to distance itself from that name. I really like the script jerseys as well.

I noticed that he was surprised to see a gray uniform. Can't blame him - how would any outsuider possibly know our colors are blue & gray when half of our fans don't. Sunday, one of our fans, (bless his heart) at the baseball game stood up and got the crowd chanting "Blue.....White.....Blue....White.....".

Damn, I would like to see blue & gray warm-ups. If Kentucky can, why can't we? It pisses me off, by the way, that Calipari's team wears more gray at Kentucky that he did here.

Well the University of Memphis has now been legally able to purchase alcohol and enter any type of bar for almost a year now, as a matter of fact.
