You got 3 little dots where your thing should be. Might want to have a doctor look at that.

Is this what you want us to see?

http://www.marshall.edu/2020/files/Inter...3-2016.pdf

If so, this just pisses me off even more to see the open dialogue and transparency other schools have available.

Love the transparency and wish JMU would do the same. The accounting used from what I can tell is fairly interesting, particularly the fact that for student athletes paying for some or part of their tuition and board they count that as a contribution back to the University which for them totaled 4 million dollars. Considering those students would have paid any way that is a bit of a stretch.

I know a lot of you are fine with JB and believe he is totally up against a wall, I wouldn't disagree, yet still he does not have the ability to think like this. He doesn't understand transparency and I have little faith that he would ever see any value to putting together this type of information for the masses to see. I honestly believe that he thinks a report like this is not worthy of his effort. I would like to be wrong in my thoughts, but I think he is not capable of taking JMU athletics any further even if we had a president who was ready to move to FBS.

They wouldn't necessarily have paid to attend Marshall if they hadn't received a partial scholarship to attend there.

If the incremental "wholesale cost" to the university is equal or less than what the student paid, this becomes interesting. Partial scholarships are in some ways like a discounted price, and may break even or make a small income/profit for the school.

JMU's administration would never provide a similar document. The words transparency and/or accountability in a document is a non-starter for Alger & Bourne. Plus, delivery would be 10 years away if Bourne decided to prepare a similar document.

They also send this out in an email to us. Our AD sends us things through email, calls with pre-recorded phone calls, heck Chase Litton (our starting QB) just called asking me to renew my season tickets.

We didn't have these things either until recently. You guys are right. Having this transparency and communication is very refreshing to this Marshall fan.

We receive calls from our student athletes as well. No complaints there.

Marshall has 14 programs and JMU has 17. There are 3 more programs for us to fund with less donor and conference dollars.

We operate at the minimum we can get away with using Title IX and the NCAA guidelines. The only way for this to change is to bring in more males. To do this, one thing among many is FBS football and another is a strong engineering program which tends to be a male dominated field.

Didn't JMU start an engineering program?

Not enough to have FBS. You must play and beat recognizable teams.

I heard a rumor at the Spring game that the Ginger Ninja may be back in the 'Burg this fall and on the football team. By no means am I saying "book it," just a rumor I heard.
