UAB played football in the 2014 season I believe. This report is for the 2014 - 2015 revenue and spending, right? What point are you trying to get at?

I think his point is if schools with budgets smaller than UAB's can afford FB UAB definitely can

Exactly.

There are a whole lot of schools with less revenue and bigger subsidies whose presidents DIDN'T kill their programs.

Yeah there are only 30 FBS schools with smaller revenue streams than UAB. UAB has a 3.4 Billion dollar overall budget Of which only .4% supports athletics. Yeah... Shutting down football was a great idea.

The list is more meaningful for the P5 programs without subsidies that are actually making money from their athletic programs.

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure. What Watts and his conspirators tried to do to UAB football will end up being a blessing in a disguise down the road. It united and rejuvenated the fan base and opened the nations eyes to your plight and will end up making your program stronger. I'm glad ya'll are back04-cheers

Where did you get this UAB Budget number from. That would suggest that UAB has a budget that is 4 times larger than the University of Alabama....? It may be possible with a Medical School. I believe the UVA numbers (at the bottom) are only Academic.

"University of Alabama plans budget of $785 million for 2015"

http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20...9544?tc=ar

It would also mean that UAB's budget is just below the combined budget of every public University in the state of Virginia (16 Schools and the Community College System $892,849,131 ).

**see below...... $4.1 Billion if you remove the Community College System from the total, it would be less than UAB's budget

The total budget of all the public Universities in Virginia with the CCS is $4,172,369,827 (Billion), if you minus the Community College System total of (-) $892,849,131 budget it equals $3,278,520,696 (Billion), less than UAB's budget ($3.4 billion...your number)

Institution Total 2013-14

Virginia Tech 588,674,255

Here is the link to the 2014-15 $3.1B budget (Page 7). The 15-16 budget is slightly larger.
