The time has honestly flown by for me. What about you guys? It'll be a great day when we get to see the Blazers take the field again. Our first game back is a home game, right??
Yes, it's a home game. No, time has not flown, at least not during football season. I'm a lifelong college football fan and last year was singularly joyless and miserable. Maybe next year won't be so bad. Here's hoping.

I really don't care much about college football, unless UAB is involved. I guess it's been easier for me to just completely unplug from college football as a whole, than someone who really likes college football.

That's fair. Frankly I feel the same way about basketball.

I get ya. I like football but I love basketball. Last fall was a flashback season. Back to when I was a student at UAB and the fall was something to endure until basketball practice started up. That's when I became a big fan of my 2nd favorite team: whoever was playing the slime down I-59.

I'm in the same boat. I love college basketball, but I've always been a Football fan first. I still casually watched Football, but it wasn't the same. I had some good times though. I got to go to a game at the Big House in Ann Arbor, 2 NFL games, and a handful of UTC games. I can't wait for my own team to take the field again in 2017.
I missed having a UAB Blazer football team to cheer for in 2015 and will miss having one in 2016. Being 75, I can't be as confident of seeing the Blazers get back on track into the next decade as those who are younger. I have been a college football fan since my teen years in the 1950s when there was no other kind of football in the south. In college basketball, there was UKY and everyone else.
I can remember Mallon Faircloth playing for UTK (single wing tailback, not QB), Pat Dye for UGA (#60 blocking for Fran Tarkington), Vince Dooley for Auburn (when they had the "X and Y" teams) and Bart Starr for Bama (even when they were losing 20 straight games over three seasons).
I will watch other teams play this fall, but I will still miss the Blazers playing live at Legion Field. I will gladly pay for Blazer Club access in 2017 to have the use of the elevator since we have mobility issues with steps and ramps.
