Shuler Bentley will share duties with Drayton Arnold quarterbacking the blue team.

Surprised that they're not pitting the two relative newcomers (BL, Dray Arnold) against the comparatively seasoned Bentley. Must be a lot of confidence in BL, or BL is uber-mobile and SB needs a mobile-Qb counterpart to counter him.

I thought the unity group drafted teams.

From my source, qbs and centers were excluded from the draft.

Could be that they just want to get BL more reps since he's less experienced than Bentley.

Quick update. Oline needs to improve!!! WRs and TEs need to improve.

My quick thoughts:
1. Bentley much improved, quicker release and better play recognition
2. LaRussa is at best the scout team QB...one read and run for his life...to be fair his OL was the 2nd/3rd string
3. Arnold will RS, but will be in the running for 2017, great arm, pretty short in stature
4. lots and lots of good RBs
5. the defense, if Addison and Holley can be trusted to be on islands, will be scary good...lots of depth, lots of playmakers in the front 7
6. the OL is very average...Hunter Sosebee played RT for both squads and looked good in tandem with DGarcia...the left side of the 1st string OL struggled...very little depth
7. Kirtley has a great kicking leg, the special teams will be better just because of his work PK/P
8. Melvin Vaughan at WR on certain plays was intriguing...Vaughan at 252 lbs on 180 lb CBs and a 6-5 Verheagh at slot TE will create wild matchups
if the OL can get to middle of the pack in the conference, we could get to 7 wins, if they struggle 5 wins is more likely

We were down 3 offensive linemen today and the left guard pretty much played the whole game for both teams.

Great attendance from the fans, just under 5,000, enjoyable weather and as always fantastic energetic supporters. Looking forward to adding a few missing pieces from a few of the freshman when they get on campus in the summer. Wonderful day to get out and watch our Monarchs.

Highlights

1. Defense is our strongest. Defense harassed and sacked all 3 QBs.
2. Arnold tossed a 94-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Harper.
3. Arnold hit Duhart for a 40-yard touchdown
4. All 4 running backs are awesome.
5. 10 seconds left LaRussa fired a 16-yard pass to Vaughn to the 4 yard line and fired a four-yard touchdown pass to Vaughn with no time left on the clock. LaRussa was roughed up on the play.


Duds.
1. Oline
2. Safety on two broke plays were exposed for TDs by Arnold.
3. Hard to tell but punting could improve.
4. Drop balls by WRs and TEs. I counted 6 drop balls.
