Good point. As for fans, I don't think it matters much whether it is Friday or Saturday, but I do think it is better to have it at night rather than daytime. The Mid-South sun can be pretty hot in the Spring. As for myself, I wouldn't miss a Blue-Gray game for anything short of tragedy in my immediate family, regardless of what day, what time or what weather. Life is short - opportunities for experiencing Tiger football are precious.
My daughter commented on being glad it wasn't so hot compared to two years ago lol. We didn't make it last year due to work commitments
Tough break for a good kid that your daughter had to work last year and she couldn't provide you a ride to Friday Night Stripes
I told her to put her leave request in early, but did she listen?!?! NOOO!!!!! Kids these days......

Zero? I guess there might have been one, or two, but nothing like previous years.

RE: Spring Game
What's the expectations for next year? We lost most of the coaching staff and the star qb and the defense was pretty bad last year. If we go 6-6 or worse, will everyone freak out?

Kicking 2016 off right, my man. Missed you!
BUT, I'm guessing you weren't here tonight. He's about the 6th string RB now. Played the last couple minutes, but didn't even get a touch
Coop is going to be used more as an H-back. Be patient as there is still a lot of the offensive playbook to be installed.
Did Cooper play any offense ? I saw him on special teams, but never saw him carry or work any on offense ...

He was in the offensive backfield late for a few plays, but I don't think he ran the ball. I remember a quarterback keeper play in the red-zone, which scored after a fake hand-off to Cooper. Defenses definitely have to respect hand-offs to him. He is valuable and will be used.

I have no expectations and with the competition of the first 2 games, unsure if we will know anything before October this year.

Unless we blow up, I believe we will be competitive in the West and go bowling this year.

Agree about the first 2 games. The Bowling Green game on Sept 24 should be a good indicator. We will need the first 2 games to get things organized and going well. There are always adjustments to be made with a new QB and coaching staff.

I'm not yet sure of how other teams have reloaded from last year (i.e., Navy's QB graduated, Old Mrs lost a bunch of their star players, etc.), so I can't yet make game-by-game predictions. However, in general, I think we can have a winning record. I would think the games that are very much winnable include: SEMO, Bowling Green, Kansas, Tulane, Tulsa and SMU - that's 6 right there. I'm glad to have Temple at home, but that's going to be a tough turnaround 5 days after playing at Old Mrs. We're at Navy and at Cinci - tough wins there, no matter the year. It's good to have South Florida at home - I think they're a team on the verge of being really good. It's also good to have Houston at home - man oh man do we owe them! They've pulled out three W's in a row against, all of which we were winning. Gotta get some payback on them.
So, like I started with, I think we have a winning record, but couldn't tell you if that means 7 wins or 10+ wins. One things for sure, with this offense, our special teams weapons, and what I believe will be an improved defense, it's set up to be another really fun and exciting year of Tiger football.
Go Tigers.

I'm cautiously optimistic. We are deep @ RB but offense looked really shaky under all 3 QBs. Defense looks improved but it's really hard to tell this early. New system, coaches, etc.
Too many questions.

Of course they will.
I'd freak out because it means a 3rd straight bowl game, lol
Memphis still has teams like: SEMO (FCS), Kansas, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, etc...I'd like to think we can get 6-7 Ws this season.
7 home games, too.

starting 2-0, with a P5 win over Kansas, would be great for Norvell and this team...get some momentum going into a big game with BGSU.

BG lost a ton of players off last year's team, including their head coach and QB.

We won at their place last season and get them at home this year. They lost their successful young coach and their star QB just like us. We should be favored in this game and should win it.
Expecting to beat this BGSU team at home isn't expecting too much, IMO.
