Pastner's demand for assistant coaches
http://georgiatech.blog.ajc.com/2016/04/...o-golfing/

Quote:Perhaps not surprisingly, Pastner doesn’t golf, finding the four or five hours spent on a course to be an unproductive use of time. He wants his assistants to believe the same.
“My first question to anyone I (might) hire is, ‘Do you golf?’” Pastner said this week. “If they say, ‘Yes,’ you can’t work for me, because that means five hours on a Sunday or on a Saturday. Can’t. Don’t want it. That’s for my assistant coaches. Any of my assistant coaches, if they’re golfers, not working for me.”

Same shtick he said at Memphis for years and most of you ate it up.

Just like how "awesome with an A" it was that he's texting recruits while his wife is in labor. ("Ohhh, what a tireless recruiter").

RE: Pastner's demand for assistant coaches
Good grief. That pretty much says all you need to know about him... I know a lot of guys who are or have been extremely productive and hardworking while still managing to get some golf time in... What unbelievable shortsightedness, the GT AD just needs to tell him to stop talking! haha, but that is GT's problem now... 02-13-bananaCOGS

RE: Pastner's demand for assistant coaches
Kind of makes you wonder if his "I'm going to take my time" hiring assistants, which he has repeated at GT, is covering up for the reality of "I can't find anybody to work for me."

after reading this, I'm reminded why I loved yesterdays rambling and boring introduction to Tubby...it was just Tubby being real, instead of a rehearsed and placating response. (he's a dear friend...they run good stuff...winning is hard)
