RE: 30 for 30: This Magic Moment
Sad part about that was Shaq and his ego. Like Shaq said if he was man enough to talk to Penny this wouldn't have happened. Penny deferred to Shaq way more than Kobe ever would. Plus, Penny carried the Magic with a roster much less than what the Lakers had and Brian Hill as coach to the playoffs the year after Shaq left. When Shaq left LA, Kobe couldn't get them in the playoffs that 1st year. I'm not throwing shade on Kobe but acknowledging Penny's greatness.

Spring '94 Freaknik was the most epic one of all. Oh, the memories.....

Talk about leaving us hanging...

LOL funny story playing little league basketball and my dad was the coach and our whole team went to that game when Penny played in Atlanta. We all had Penny jerseys and went to the game but we also stumbled into Freaknik as well. Can you imagine a bus full of 9 - 11 yr olds in the middle of Freaknik. LOL good times!!!!!

I got goosebumps watching those Penny highlights. My wife was in a class/lab team with Penny at the UofM his freshman year and didn't even know he was "a big deal". Said he was soft spoken, polite and only showed-up twice all semester. LOL.

The Memphis knee curse hit Penny just like it hit Lee, Vaughn and now Rose.

exactly

ironically, Penny tells ESPN that if he could play today, he'd play for Memphis' current franchise, like Lorenzen once did
