UCF landed their top WR target, Emmanuel Greene from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Yes, THAT IMG Academy.

He's a 5.7 3 star on rivals, 88 3 star on 247. Offers from Cal, Clemson, Cinci, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, TCU, Temple, Tennessee, UCLA, USF, Virginia, and WVU.

RE: It's early
houston might be pulling in one of best and yet quitest recruting classes in a long time

Houston normally recruits well but it is normally a few big time recruits caring a lot of underrated guys...
our current class has no major recruits but we are getting a ton of high 3star guys who have a top of major offers,
we just got him 10 minutes ago
http://247sports.com/Player/Timarcus-Davis-77777

and had 3 other high 3 stars the last few days ...
as far as depth this might be one of our better classes

UCF gets commits from two, today. DL Antwan Owens and OL Viktor Beach.

According to the composite UCF has the 3rd best recruiting class so far, although that includes a TE commit being counted for 2017, when he is actually enrolling this summer. Only .50 average rating behind Houston now.

According to:

http://247sports.com/Season/2017-Footbal...amRankings

Houston has the #23 ranked recruiting class in the nation. The next highest AAC team is SMU at #44, and UCF at #45. We are also out recruiting Texas at #34. UH also has the second highest recruiting class in Texas behind only #14 aTm.

Art Briles leaving has really hurt Baylor as their class currently sits at #103. If this stands Baylor would have the second worst recruiting class in Texas ahead of only UTEP at #125. Talk about karma for Baylor lol!

Memphis is likely to move to second in the AAC tmr. That also depends if 247 does down our guys ratings afterward lol

It is crazy that the AAC could have 4 teams in the top 50 per 247 after tmr. I remember it was a challenge just to have 1 in the top 50 at this point. Every since Houston broke that boundary other AAC teams seem to be recruiting at an high level. Kudos to the league!!!

Do you mean multiple teams in the top 50? Cause UH is already in the top 25.

Earlier today, UH was #19. Now we're #23. I wonder if 4 schools all got commits between earlier this afternoon and now, or if some of our players were conveniently downgraded.

I meant to say 4 teams in the top 50. Everyone knows Houston has a top 25 class. The point is AAC recruiting seems to be setting new bars as far as G5 recruiting and challenging some of the lower level P5s

Ah ok. Ya I'm really happy to see how its turning out so far even though its really early. Its crazy how Western Michigan is the next highest G5 school at #26. How the hell does Western Michigan have a top 30 class??

P5 Teams an AAC program is currently ranked ahead of:
  • Rutgers
  • UNC
  • USC
  • Duke
  • Iowa
  • Ole Miss
  • Arkansas
  • Texas Tech
  • Wisconsin
  • Texas
  • Penn State
  • TCU
  • Michigan State
  • Kentucky
  • NC State
  • Iowa State
  • Florida
  • Pitt
  • Boston College
  • Stanford
  • Louisville
  • Virginia

That's just in the top 50.

This is probably why

A #Vols commit told me at one point today Butch Jones just kept walking down a line, and everyone was committing. They got at least 7 today.

At least eight commits for #Vols today. I’ve seen a lot, but never anything quite like this. Wow.

It won't show up at most recruiting site rankings, but Houston just added a transfer that will count against the 2017 limit of 25:

2016 National Top 300 WR recruit Tren'Davian Dickson. Offered by everybody. UT, OU, A&M, LSU, USC, Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan etc. Enrolled mid-term at Baylor. Got his release after Briles was fired.

So he isn't going to be on scholarship this year while he sits out the 2016-2017 season at Houston?

I assume he will be they are just going to use one of 2017 scholarships now instead of later.

He will be on scholarship in 2016, but it will count against the 2017 limit of 25. Similar to Duke Catalon who transferred to Houston from Texas in the fall of 2015, but we announced him as part of the 2016 class.
