Shame about the Green Leafe. Its where I first met my wife , while she was attending W&M in the mid 80s. I being at the Coast Guard Training Center in Yorktown for training. had just stopped in their for a beer while exploring the area. Her and her friends where having dinner there...Our first Date was to Busch Gardens. Well the rest is history...Since our Daughter goes to JMU we looked forward every other year coming to zable and reliving memories while enjoying a good football game.
Has it reopened yet?

Yes. Renovated interior shown above.

RE: The Green Leafe
I don't know how many of you watch the TV show, Quantico, but they gave a "sort of" shoutout to the Leafe on last Monday's show. The CIA agents-to-be were training at "The Farm" at Camp Peary (nice shot of the front gate) and after the first day of training, the instructors sent them to The Bold Leafe Cafe, Williamsburg's best hangout.

The scene's did have the feel (a bit) of the Green Leafe, with dark wood tables and bar.

Sort of cool, I got a chuckle from it.

The Crust was evicted. None of the restaurants in Tribe Square remain. Too bad, because it had a great outdoor patio to have a few drinks before the game (for those who arent dedicated tailgaters).

RE: The Green Leafe
All students living on campus need to be on a meal plan? That definitely will hurt other local dining businesses especially if you combine that with Sodexo getting 13% of dining dollar sales being paid at those restaurants - not sure if all places have that % but at least Mooyah did according to the article.

They need to charge rent that is appropriate for the space where the businesses can be profitable...

Apparently the only business which they want to be profitable is the W&M Real Estate Commission itself.

Wow,

Expect to see the catering business provide a lot of goodies to tailgaters. My wife and kids may not eat another hamburger/hot dog from concessions.
