His winning percentage and best confewrence finish is worst than the previous coach.

He will be given a pass on much of this because he was not the one who followed Cal. But if we are completely honest his record does not match that of the previous coach over the past 7 years. To be completely honest besides inheriting a NCAA Championship tea in his first eyar at UK his career has been dare i say it mediocre.

Worst. haha

and he inherited a championship tea in his first eyar

Ouch. Sounds painful.

“I was hired for my competency and my ability to get the job done and not the color of my skin – you know you hear that many times like Martin Luther King said, but I think that is says a lot about the community and a lot about the University of Memphis to put the program in my hands – someone who has been successful and will lead the right way.”

This says a lot. Its a big difference from the last time a black coach was chosen to lead the program. Tic Price was supposedly hire, because he was a black coach. Coach Smith was hire because he is a competent basketball coach. Too me it says a lot about the city and the Tigers basketball program. All good, hopefully, we have moved beyond the racial divide.

I LOVE championship tea. But only if it is absolutely loaded with sugar.

Wonder if his Georgia Tech gear came in yet

To be completely honest I hope so. To be completely honest he is worst than most other trolls.

Y'all cut incrediboy some slack. His man-crush took off like a prom dress in May and didn't even leave an autographed flash card. Dude is crunk.

good stuff

I've got a lifelong friend who is a huge UK basketball fan, and we both discussed many times over the years how Tubby was dealing with a vocal racist minority at Kentucky that was really disgusting. He was also in a totally impossible situation were he was not really wanted from day 1, and it wans't really his fault. Its hard to describe the UK situation after Pitinio left, but it was IMPOSSIBLE to follow.

This whole thing is really is vindication for Tubby after leaving UK all those years ago. He has worked hard to get back to this position, in an era where everyone wants the young flashy coach, not a 64 year old with a HOF resume.

RE: Interesting Read from ESPN on Tubby to Memphis
Tubby doesn't even have to deal with being asked about how it feels to be the first black coach to lead our program or about how historic that is and yada yada yada.

He is the 4th at Memphis. Its not even on the radar here, and racist boosters won't be disrespecting him or pushing him out the door for being black and not being Rick Pitino.

He arrives here and everyone is pressuring him to hire more black coaches like Keelon, Penny and AA.
