RE: Assistant coaches for Tubby?
Somebody said someone from ESPN reported that Tubby was bringing his whole staff. I don't know who, so just the messenger.

If so, I hope he does it quickly, so we can stop with the Penny stuff. Wouldn't we rather have Penny at East and running Team Penny than being the 3rd assistant at Memphis?

Article 11.4.2 Individual Associated with a Prospective Student-Athlete—Men’s Basketball. In men’s basketball, during a two-year period before a prospective student-athlete’s anticipated enrollment and a two-year period after the prospective student-athlete’s actual enrollment, an institution shall not employ (or enter into a contract for future employment with) an individual associated with the prospective student-athlete in any athletics department noncoaching staff position or in a strength and conditioning staff position. (Adopted: 1/16/10; a contract signed before 10/29/09 may be honored, Revised: 6/17/11)

So, he would have to be a coach by 2017 for Chandler (class of '19)

Sounds like he can't be moved for another year unless I am missing something.

The greatest coaches have the best assistants. I think Tubby knows how great this opportunity is to win big again at the highest level and will do all he can within the rules and with the administrations approval to do just that.

I think he brings his guys.

Either they can recruit at another level or they can't.

Time will tell.

He will almost assuredly be on staff but not as an assistant.

It has been mentioned on the board that NCAA rules prevent parents having role other than coach or assistant coach... But Milt was operations manager when Juany played, was he not?

I think he may have been why the rule was put in place.

most coaches are forever memorialized when a rule change is made to circumvent loopholes that they have taken advantage of.
Calipari is somewhat unique in that he has already been the subject of at least TWO such rule changes....(the other being Letters of Intent related)

Dubious honor, for sure.

RE: Assistant coaches for Tubby?
First I've seen the "2-year" period on the dad. But it says 2 years after enrollment. So that means we're still a year away. Then it also says 2 years prior. So by then, you may be in the window for son #3. So I wouldn't count on this happening.

No they haven't. Only Vince Taylor. Esposito was technically "with" him, but was DOBO until TT. Pooh has only been with him since TT.
