That would really suck if they ended up with Buzz

The responses are lukewarm..."that sucks", "oh well", and "that's disappointing" hardly the cries of the scorned.

Their fans expect basketball disappointment. Most seem to really have wanted Tubby to stay, and thought he made great progress with their program. They seem to be realistic about the reasons he left too--better recruiting, an easier conference, chance to win big.

You must not be reading the same posts I am because most of their posters are very upset about Tubby leaving. Many are pissed, but many wish him well and thank him for the great job he did at Tech.

+1 Danny. Many are pissed. Reasonably classy about it, but pissed. It's now a 16 page thread, kind of proves they are fired up. And that's just one thread on one board.

Imagine how GT fans must've felt if they came here to see if JP was a good coach and would be missed.

Pretty sure there will never be another fan board that erupted with so much joy after losing a coach. lol

RE: A Texas Tech Basketball Thread
After reading almost the entire board (at least 17 pages now), the response of the Texas Tech fans reminds me of how we were when Calipari left. All of the arguments are the same:
he's not interested: he loves us so much he couldn't possibly leave. He has a legacy here and can build his own program to heights that no one can ever duplicate, we gave him a chance when he was a washed up, fired coach.
oh no, they are interested: He said he loves us. Look at the base he has built for success, they (the other school) is delusional if they think they are better than us, all they do is cheat to get where they are
they made an offer: the fact our AD let it get this far is outrageous. It's his fault and there must be a problem in the coach's and the AD's relationship. Come on people let's make a counteroffer they can't match, Woe is us.
They hired him: The sky is falling, His character is shot...I'll never trust another coach to keep his word. The other school's fanbase has an overinflated viewpoint of their place in the basketball world.
We'll get them back: So they want in the Big 12, huh? Fat chance now.

They're not through seeing Tubby on the basketball court ... annually. Soon.

As a friend of mine noted, (1) our leaders aren't dumb enough to do anything that would hurt our Big 12 chances and (2) taking their football coach hasn't seemed to hurt Cincy's any. Texas Tech will vote the way Texas tells them to, anyway.
