Buzz really excites me no more than Tubby.

I still think Forbes might have been the best fit.

I wasn't a big fan of Buzz. I think he's more trouble than he's worth. Really high maintenance

I'm worried that one day we are gonna see Forbes in an elite 8 at a lesser school than we are because we were worried about a 1 year show cause

It's like you're reading my mind.

Passing over Forbes could end up like passing over Freeze.

We didn't pass over Forbes he was never considered.

There were other reasons behind why we didn't want Freeze, ones that can't be talked about on this public board.

If we had Freeze now, we would be on probation and not being considered for the B12.

We have some very smart guys leading what we do now.

No matter how hard you try, some just don't get it.

I don't see why that had to be a dealbreaker.

Buzz has shown he can win, at Marq and VTech. Give him a 5 year contract and if he isn't killing it by year 4, negotiate an extension that doesn't extend that insane buyout. Giving him a huge buyout is not such a big deal, giving it to a yet unproven Josh Pastner however...

He would want automatic rollover. If he did well he could renegotiate for more $, because he would have the leverage, but if he did poorly he would have no reason to come back to the table. The point is that both of these guys would have it set up so that you have no leverage to get them to negotiate down. They can say "just fire me" and you are on the hook for the whole amount.

Once the automatic rollover is in there, you might as well unring a bell as take it out.

Most get it just will believe when they see it.

Hey I hope the B12 isn't just message board fantasy. It certainly would be nice next coaching hire it they don't have to play if safe for fear of conference alignment reprisal.
