Wait...what? That's not suppose to happen! FCS is a dead end place where nobody care about the players or the teams.

This just shows that if you are good at any level you'll get noticed by the NFL scouts.

That my point...

Carson was a very late bloomer. He went from 5' 9" as a sophomore to 6' 5" as a senior and was injured his junior year. He went out for basketball his senior year and helped his team to the state championship.

Central Michigan offered him, but he chose an instate offer.

Has a FCS player ever went #1 in the NFL draft before?

No - highest was Steve McNair at #3

Current FCS members like Tennessee State and Grambling State have had #1 picks, but that was before FCS existed.

Think the highest D2 player was Neil Lomax? Drafted 2nd Rd 33rd pick in 1981

Highest NAIA - Christian Okoye? Drafted 2nd Rd 35th pick in 1987

99% of drafted players come from FBS with a large percentage from P5's. One player means nothing, absolutely nothing.

Doesn't mean too much - although if successful might help steer some more pro-style QB's to go to programs that run that offense, regardless of the level.
