I think everyone is well aware of the fact that Tubby used to be a very successful coach. Not so much anymore.

And to add, TT's 3 season record before Tubby arrived - 32-62, Tubby coached TT to its first appearance in the NCAA since 2007, Tubby has had 19 seasons with 20 or more wins, taken 5 schools to the NCAA, Minnesota's record the year before Tubby arrived - 8-22 to 20-13 in Tubby's first year. Tubby took Minnesota to 3 NCAAs, 2 NITs in 6 yrs at Minnesota & was 21-13 and made a 3rd round run in the NCAAs the yr he was fired. In addition to his impressive resume at UK, he took UGA (yes, the University of Georgia that doesn't know how to spell basketball) to the NCAA each of his two yrs there reaching the Sweet 16 with UGA. Tubby Smith is the Big XII Coach of the Yr.

And I also don't think Tubby is the "wow" hire but he will win big at Memphis, right the ship & return Memphis to it's top 20 program status nationally.
