The main concern with Beard is the mass exodus of players since his arrival in Vegas.

I had the same questions. Researched it. Has lots of Texas roots. Re Tx Tech, he coached at Angelo State, which I believe is part of the Texas Tech university system. Texas is weird - UT, A&M and Tech all have satellite schools. That's all I could come up with.

Cannot say I blame him. It took UNLV 11 days to approve him...and it wasn't a 100% unanimous vote. Something like 9-4 in the board of regents.
He gets to go home...so I am kind of happy for him and Tech.
It sucks for UNLV....because now the cracks in the haves and havenots are already starting to show.


One piece of advice for Texas Tech....double or triple his salary....or in another year or two...some other basketball school is going to swoop in and snatch him.
