Probably (and hopefully) moreso than Timmy. He's got the court vision, the quick hands, the appearance of almost 'gliding' in traffic, and obviously the outside shot. I wouldn't say he's a pass-first kind of guy, but that scenario seems to suit him just fine, too. Seems to balance dishing and scoring as available. I'm not saying he's "the second coming of Mister", just likely the closest to him in terms of skill set and style. I do *not* think he will match Mister's totally absurd hesitation moves - which have rarely been equaled on this planet. But that would just be gravy and giggles.
The only caveat I'll throw out there is the usual one about needing to prove he can do similar things against tougher comp. My doctor-sense leads me to believe he can, as he just seems to have a "presence" that has a certain ring of authority to it, if'n you catch my drift.
A spot on analysis of what Walters looks like on the highlight reel. The calmness and authority heading through traffic. The vision, decision making and lightning quick passing. The willingness to pass or score as the situation demands. It's a wonderfully similar package - if it can be made to work on this level.
The team full of deadly back court shooters is also reminiscent of the Major Geer, Alvin West, Calvin Talford, Jerry Pelphrey, Mister Jennings days. Now if the guys can only work together something like that.
The chemistry on that team was years in building, and depended a lot on the fact that everybody deferred to Mister. As you say, chemistry building took most of the season last year. It probably won't be quicker this year.

Might be because he is under 6'0, big programs tend to shy away smaller guys. Also as I mentioned before I saw several articles online indicating that Alabama was "interested" however I have no idea if they actually offered him or not.

And yes, I know, it's a different world now, but still.....
Tim Smith didn't either. In fact from what I remember we were the only D-1 school to offer Timmy.
We can continue to express cautious optimism, but I also think a disclaimer should be issued for the SoCon: ETSU basketball is not liable for any injuries, including but not limited to broken ankles, or for emotional damage suffered on the court in 2016-17.

GO BUCS!!!
RIP the bottom half of SoCon.
We didn't lose to the bottom half last year, we need to beat the top (Chattanooga)
This says it all. I expect Walters to lead this team the next two years.
“There are times to press and there are times to be patient in the recruiting process,” Forbes said. “Julian’s desire to go through the process, coupled with our patience, allowed us to get the point guard we coveted from the first time we saw him play. His desire to lead and to win is off the charts. In addition, he is a prolific 3-point shooter and a selfless distributor.”
