It sounds like they took a real shot at landing Service Master as an anchor tenant, but SM chose Peabody Place instead.
I'm sure the dead of the dad didn't help either. They have obviously spent a lot of time and effort on this. I'm not convinced it will get done, but I think it might.
It would be nice and realistic to have a Hyatt or an Omni down there. I could be wrong, but I just don't see us getting a Ritz or a Four Seasons.

The bizjournal website has a subscription article stating that One Beale was helped by ServiceMaster's decision at least to locate downtown, even if not to its project: "One Beale project bolstered by ServiceMaster move" I can't open it to read what it refers to, but I'm guessing that the residences are more likely b/c of relocated employees. Hopefully MAA locates there, but it's like the chicken and egg --> the longer it appears to take, the less likely a corp looking for quick expansion will see it as viable (i.e. Belz's ability to convert Peabody Place NOW for Servicemaster vs Servicemaster having to wait for One Beale), and the less likely they land a corp, the less likely the office tower gets built.
