Having lived in Atlanta for 24 years, Georgia Tech is so lost in this huge city it is no big deal to hire Pastner. I bet if you took a poll, less than 3% of the population of Metro Atlanta could even tell you who Georgia Tech's football coach or basketball coach is at any given time. With that said, I wish Josh the best of luck at Georgia Tech and welcome him and his family to Atlanta. He picked a fine city - I love Atlanta, but I still love my hometown Memphis too. #GTG.

Pastner is a good guy so I hope he succeeds. I don't think he will but I hope he does.

I don't wish any ill-will on Pastner... I have just seen and heard enough of him to know GT is screwed. Watching that press conference and all his regurgitated BS brought back a flood of horrible flashbacks. He's their way overpaid problem now!

Well at least now when he says the coach he just got skull dragged by is a hall of famer with good players who run good stuff, he won't be full of $hit like the past 7 years.

Same here. He did his best and ran a clean program. At least we're not facing probation or worse.

The state he's leaving the program in we may as well have been on probation.

Atlanta pays as much attention to GT basketball as Memphis does to CBU. GT is an elite Engineering school. It's not a school for the 'common people'. Only about 60% of their enrollment is from GA residents, and many of those move to GA to establish residency for tuition purposes.
