I was told the new contract details are still being worked on. So take that for what it is (he's getting extended). I believe the AG office in Richmond has to approve it and the board can vote on it.

Perhaps the BOV should table the decision until after an extensive listening tour to gauge the alumni pulse. Then, based on the results, they can commission a feasibility study to weigh the pros and cons of contract extension, followed by a comprehensive 127 prong report with no measureable goals. Then and only then, can they fully monitor the fluid landscape of university leadership.03-banghead

Sorry, it was pent up and I couldn't stuff the genie back in the bottle. 04-cheers

They sent a survey recently and I started it and got about 15 questions in and the questions were so ridiculous I just quit and canceled out of it. They made no sense at all. They had nothing to do with JMU. There were questions like "Do you believe your JMU experience helped you acquire the correct washer and dryer set on the market?". WTF? "On a scale of 1-10, how much do you feel your experience at JMU affected your selection of deodorant?". I was just like "Holy **** I can't take this, click X now".

It is very significant that Mike Battle was reappointed to the BOV. He was the chair of the Athletics Committee of the BOV over the last 4 years and hopefully he will continue in that role going forward. He's a strong force and a leader.

Please tell me those examples are extreme example of exaggerating, not real...

LOL - and this survey was one of the grand "accomplishments" Alger presented to the BOV. Not sure whether to laugh or cry anymore. Tax money at work in the hands of a Diversity Attorney who is looking for a study to state how effectively he runs things.

Yes, they were of course exaggerated. I'll see if I can find it in my email and still access the actual survey but they honestly aren't that far off. They were just laughable, vague questions that would lead to nothing which I guess is par for the course.

Well that's surprising. I wonder if they went with the 14 or 16 oz bone in cowboy ribeye? Also, if they went with the bone in cowboy ribeye, was the bone in backwards?

What the heck does this say: "Approved a resolution for approval of the construction procurement delivery approval procedures for capital project delivery" is that English?

That's BOVese for "rubber stamped construction documents"

They do seem to go out of their way to avoid including meaningful details, such as the "reports" they received/approved, like the strategic goals and six year plan.

The biggest concern for the BOV is what's on the catered menu and how fast is direct deposit...

Did the board report how many times Jon Boy Alger said diversity?

Is jmu one step closer to transgender bathrooms after the board meeting?
