You can say what you want to and whatever makes you sleep well at night but if it was real and so great, Kermit would have been gone. to where? we don't want him... I wouldn't want to coach and have to live in that city. we don't want you to, either! We'll see how it plays out but the AAC is just another G5 conference. They are all the same no matter how you slice it. In the south, if you ain't in the SEC, you're not a real team anyway. All of us non P5 teams face that stigma. UAB lost their FB team because of it. Didn't even matter that they were bowl eligible. That would have happened in CUSA or the AAC. It wouldn't have mattered.

You can throw whatever stats and such at me but it's all a moot point. yes, because you don't live in reality... It's not the job you think it is. If it was, Kermit would have been begging them and would've even tried to cut a deal to leave. he wants the job...we don't want him...that's a good thing for MTSU He didn't. He used it as leverage to get more cash and stay at home while doing it. Good job being a decoy for us.

The $15 million buyout is if he's fired without cause. His buyout to leave Wichita State is much smaller than that. Had Memphis hired Gregg Marshall, they would've had to have offered a similar buyout in his contract. Considering they were glad to just get rid of a guy that had a $10.6 million buyout, there were questions if they wanted to commit that kind of cash to the next guy.

Evidently TTech has countered with a million dollar raise for Tubby. Wonder if Memphis wants him bad enough to get in a bidding war with TTech.

I doubt Texas Tech would counter 2 to 3 times. Memphis will pay a bit but they also really seem to want him from what I'm seeing. We'll see. If it goes bust, they should go for Forbes IMO.
