The season opening game against Western Kentucky has been moved up to Thursday, September 1 @ 7:00 p.m.

The Notre Dame @ Texas game has been moved back to Sunday, September 4 (night game).

But which TV network/station(s) will be broadcasting the game? Why would this not be included in the news statements?

I feel like we might see this situation again this season. Thursday or Friday games.
Inconvenient for some of us. But I assume it's always related to TV coverage and, therefore, $$.

I actually really like the Thursday game if it is the 1st game of the season. School has barely started anyway, so the players do not have much in the way of class or homework conflicts to worry about yet. Gets the game more into the spotlight, rather than being one of many games. Be nice to actually win the thing (of course).

I agree: weeknight games in the first week of the season are pretty fun all around. But after that, football games should be on Saturdays.

Sounds like good exposure nationally on opening week.

Agree. Exposure will be even better if we can be competitive or perhaps win. Cbs or Fox2 will probably carry the game.

Correct me if I am wrong (like I need to ask), but doesn't this give us two extra days of practice? I believe we are allowed to start X days before our opener.

It won't be CBS or Fox2 (or any other over-the-air outlet). Likely CBS College.
