Pastner is a good fit for the ACC.

Pastner followed unreal expectations set-up by Calipari at Memphis, much like Bruiser Flint did at UMass. Flint went on to be successful at Drexel after being chased out of Amherst. I'm not so sure this is as horrible of a hire as it appears, although not going all out for Bryce Drew was a mistake.

If Pastner turns out to be successful at Tech, what will their fans complain about?

For that to happen, UNC, Syracuse and Louisville would all have to be hit with major NCAA sanctions, Mike Krzyzewski would have to retire, and Buzz Williams would have to jump to another conference... in other words, it wouldn't mean all that much.

GTS,

Your AD is still more tolerable than Army's AD. The man wants our football to join the Ivy or Patriot League.

The Josh Pastner hire obviously isn't a good one but look at it this way, Yellow Jackets fans; at least you didn't run off the most successful coach in your program's history to hire Kevin Stallings.

Has there been an official press conference to introduce him to GT??? Just curious how that goes over, and will there be any hard question into his philosophy coaching from the sidelines using cue cards etc???

How many body guards will be required?
Will Pastner have to speak behind bulletproof glass?

Genius ACC hires.

The ACC poaches TWO sitting coaches at Tennessee schools.

You've done well.

Who would've thought that the ACC would do better job of hiring football coaches than basketball coaches!

I wonder what GT could have done if they weren't having to pay two other coaches salaries and if the athletic department was in a little stronger financial position.
Once you get down (money or rep) it's hard to climb back up.

That's a really good point. The ACC is supposed to be THE basketball league.

They're paying Pastner more than enough to attract and land "name" coaches.

The most confusing hires of the college basketball coaching carousel
The most confusing hires of the college basketball coaching carousel

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/the-most-co...ncaab.html

7 power 5 jobs opened up. 3 of them made good to really good hires. 2 others came from the ACC.
