I like John Brady. Never thought he was sufficiently appreciated at LSU or ASU.

Really? How do you show appreciation for a coach that wins 48% of his games over 9 seasons at ASU? No NCAA trips only won 19 games twice never any more than that. Had 5 losing seasons with 2 of those both 11 wins coming in his last two years at ASU.

I think ASU showed him the appreciation he earned

Why? Calipari built Memphis into a higher caliber progra. Josh had no problem getting elite talent to Memphis, but he couldn't win with it.

He's not going to recruit to GT better. If he couldn't win with elite talent, what makes you think he will win with less?

there are diminishing returns for athletic budgets. Memphis spends $50 million on athletics and invests tons into basketball. Georgia Tech hired a cheap coach last time because they didn't have money for a big hire. Now they're paying him and the coach before him.

Memphis basketball is very likely in a better financial situation than Georgia Tech. Some GT posters were saying that Memphis had to chip in money for them to hire Pastner. If your former employer is paying someone else to take you, that has to be a big hit to the ego.

I can't see Memphis hiring Kermit.
