There should be an add campaign in place to promote him.

I would vote for you as chairman, but you've gone over to the dark side lately. Guess I'll have to vote for one of the "I want him gone, but" people. They're good at trying to spin the unspinnable.

The cat is out of the bag and there's no hope of getting it back in.

Maybe we should send Mimi, tigergreg, and racecarguy to visit ADs around the country

Nah, there's a sucker born every day. Someone somewhere WILL hire him eventually.

Hope springs eternal.

Dedric is going to pull a Kevin Durant next year

Average 20 points and 10 Rebounds while shooting 40% from the 3 And Crawford is also going to start shooting threes like Curry. That is the only way I see them making the tourney next year.

If Woodson would have hung around I think we would have had a realistic shot if we could have added a big who could defend.

Pastner is really going off the deep end, imo. He's just a bizarre, strange and delusional guy.
Losing a ton of respect from every angle.

I've got a reality check for those of you holding out hope that Josh somehow finds another job this offseason: he ain't even looking.

Nobody wanted job. Everyone turned it down. He was crazy to follow Cal.

Graduated in 5 semesters. Got masters in 1 year. No excuse for kids not doing academics.

Never wanted the Memphis job when he first got there. Silly to follow Cal.

Won 70% of games and has had a great run.

"Letter to himself" would say:

Memphis is MOST scrutinized job in the country. Always under a microscope from day 1.

Gives absolutely NO tangible things he would do differently. "Change some things, maybe get some different players."

"Put a premium on shooting" "Take things one day at a time"

Hosts brag to him about coaching tree and number of assistants who have gone onto hc under him. Blessing and curse because of continuity.

Talks about his flip phone.

Good young core group coming back.

Make a deep tourney run. Excited. Opportunity to do some different things. Make a deep run in the AAC.

Dudes fluff the hell out of him. Says he is one of the best coaches in the country.

Tubby Smith got run off for only making the second round in Kentucky AFTER winning a championship going to 3 Elite 8's and 2 sweet 16s and having a 76% winning percentage while playing in a power conference.

Josh wouldn't have made a third season in Lexington.

Cal's already feeling the heat after the early exit this year with at least three players already declaring for the NBA. He has only won one title when he should have won at least two more. He needs to win next year or he is in trouble. Kentucky way more scrutinized.

Just to be clear, I have no delusions about Josh being lured away from $10.6M for a better job. But I do think when our administration finally comes to their senses, that there will be some program somewhere (maybe not the same year, but sometime) that will offer him a job as head coach. And their point of view, not mine, is what I would label as hope springing eternal.

I'm going to listen to the podcast when I get the chance, I'm expecting to find out that your summary is inaccurate, if it is accurate Josh is a worse human being than I thought.

Let me know.

Damn, you were accurate. I think I can do a better job summarizing it:

Brag, Brag, Brag, Lie, Lie

Announcer praise Josh

Put down players, put down University of Memphis

Delusional Talk from Josh, More delusional Talk from Josh

Announcers agree with Josh

Stupid talk from Josh

It's pathetic that this idiot still has a job. At what point can we pay him his money and tell him to **** off? At this point, he's taking pride in ruining the program.

RE: Pastner on "The Plug on Hoops" podcast last night
I'm pretty sure he could quit if it has been so bad on him, nobody would beg him to stay, well not many. He really needs to stop with the interviews as they are counter productive. If you coach Willie Mays and he never hits over .280, 30 home runs and 80 rbis are you really going to toot your own horn? Thats exactly what CJP is doing.

Josh needed some lessons from Leo Durocher a long time ago when it might have helped him instill confidence in his young superstars, which he instead guided to mediocrity and wants to brag about. He knows nothing about building a team, focus, roles or identity on the court, or letting players play through their mistakes. They are they most unprepared Tiger basketball team to start any season, or play any big game I have ever seen, but it is all the players fault.

All that said, maybe it will click for him. If he can graduate so fast and get his masters so quick surely he should be able to coach a team up once or twice in 8 years or so, he should be due. Instead of giving these interviews, Josh should be recruiting every minute of every day and then figuring out our game strategy and style of play based upon our roster and strengths. If my coach kept up with these negative comments, he had best win and win big. You have under achieved Josh, and you are too arrogant to understand it. It makes it very hard for the few of us that want to help you get over the hump to do so.

Josh seems to be seeking validation.

Appears he's listening only to those that tell him what he wants to hear instead of what he needs to hear.

Gonna be a loooooooooong year.

I'm so tired of Josh and the total crap that he's allowed to say and get away with. How come Rudd can't tell him to keep his mouth shut and just go forward with if you can't say something nice and positive about the job you have, don't say anything at all. What I mean by not saying anything is just decline doing the interview nicely and therefore he doesn't have to keep making comments that most of us don't like.

I can't wait for him to be gone. Please let it be after next season. He's not good for our program. At this point he only makes things worse. It's just terrible being the coach for the Memphis Tigers stealing money.

I strongly dislike JP.

Josh pastner is an idiot and will never be a successful d1 coach. The longer he stays at Memphis the more he destroys his own career. We unfortunately have to watch this boat sink but hopefully we can save our program once the marionette strings are cut. He's a clown. We are headed to a very bad situation. DePaul. Unlv. Etc. once proud programs lost.
