RE: Nick Rogers Transferring
They lost Boothe, who was as dominate as anyone in the league. Lost their starting sub-par point guard. The 4 returning starters are mediocre at best. Finished 17-15 in a poor league. Lost 6 of their last 7 games. Now they bring in a bunch of unknown's to a team who only played 8 deep, so little experience to build on.
The light at the end of the tunnel.... Hope is not a winning strategy.

I think so, too. Coach is on the right track building a surrounding cast for them before they are seniors.

Your choice of course. If they have a good season I'll be happy to pay. It also gives me an excuse to go to Toledo. I can take in a game and go to Ideal Hot Dog - my favorite greasy spoon on the planet. :-)

Jon Jon, the third leading scorer in the MAC, is mediocre at best? I strongly disagree.

Navigato had moments where you could see the future and it was so bright you had to wear shades. Consistency and muscle will improve this year. We'll be fine. Remember, I'm the guy that predicted Delino Deer would be all-MAC his junior year, so you know I can judge talent.

Jon Jon, Navigato & Sanford are a decent nucleus coming back. It could certainly be much worse. New guys--including the transfer Taylor and red-shirt Knapke--will play key roles in determining what kind of season we have. Hoping to see a deeper team. There were games this past season where we just didn't have enough players to come off the bench and contribute when starters ran stale or just had an off night.

The conference as a whole will be better next year, and I'm not sure there's any evidence that we will be. We did lose a lot of close games this year, which is partly random, so I would expect that to improve. We were injury-free last year, so that can't improve. Anything over .500 in the conference would surprise me.

The team became too predictable toward the end of conference play.
I wonder if the new coach from Kent State has a recruit he can bring with him. We got Navigato from Buffalo because of a coaching change. That worked out really well for us.

20+ wins. We almost did it w Mosely and two frosh starters. Navigato will be much stronger and Knapke/Taylor will soften the loss of Booth. Dzoewdzfavni looks to be at least Stuckey's equal and We'll have a much better perimeter game. Defense, as always, the wild card but this train will chug into the MAC station in good shape.
+1 but Dzoewdzfavni and Justin Roberts are a LOCK to be a better point guard Combo than Stuckey and Rogers were.

I'll give you that for the most part, but he was absent at times. Very undisciplined as well. That needs to change. He has a chance to be pretty good for MAC standards, but no savior by any means.

JonJon is a incomplete player. Capable of beating good players with both athleticism and skill also capable of forcing plays and allowing mediocre players to throw his shot back in his face. A little streaky but generally a good shooter. I think Dzierzewkiwitzschweititz will be a good complement as he plays kinda like Jonjon and seems to like big game situations. Hopefully, Jonjon looks at his junior year and sees that he was pretty close to being all-mac (fist team) and having a chance to play professionally somewhere, but that he needs to improve his efficiency attacking the basket and learning when to push and when not to force.

Maybe if he has a PG that can attack the basket, he will figure out other ways to score-like throwing lobs to Knapke.
