To me the net loss is zero. Stuckey, white nor Dials were players who were going to bring us a mac championship. Might as well start over.

Don't believe it. This is a UT problem only! No other program has players transferring or coaches leaving. Only Toledo. Because TK doesn't know what he's doing.
right on cue. Pushing buttons is fun.

Grandstaff and Mitchell were terrible. I would take Harris (PG) but I think he ends up at Akron.

Don't see how the loss of Stuckey can equal zero.

Juice=1 and not til his junior year. Most PGs over the last twenty or so years = 0 titles. In that respect Larry Bastfield=Kieth Wade.

Yeah and these are regular season championships we are talking about here. Start talking about MAC Tourney championships (and the accompanying NCAA invitations that go with them) and the goose eggs go waaaaaaay back.

of course his image was tarnished, as it should be, but kashif payne was marginally involved in one of the least nefarious college sports gambling scandals ever. hard nosed rocket teams that had big years had a few guys who got a few favors for trying to throw away a few points at the end of blowout wins.
payne was the conference defensive player of the year. played huge minutes. and was pristine with his ball handling.
around the time detroit gamblers first began to target UT kids on the football and basketball team kashif watched his best friend roommate and teammate drop dead in front of him. stan talked publicly about him dealing with depression. i covered the team a couple times that year for some publications and saw a young man with things weighing on him.
nevertheless, kashif went on to be conference defensive player of the year and a high effort long minutes player who handled the point by carving up defenses like a sushi chef.
he was a good student, who continued to work toward his UT degree after he was kicked off the team and going through what became a huge 10 year expenditure of police-legal-prison system resources in which Kashif pleaded not guilty but there was never a trial or fully open judicial process. ultimately, Kashif accepted a govt offered plea bargain of probation a small fine and a little community service for accepting less than $2000 in groceries from someone connected to the scheme.

So the bottom line appears to be; no point guard, unless a freshman, or Sanford. Doesn't bode well for next year. We knew what we had in Stuckey, who should have improved, but now a crap shoot. Ugh!
I assume this opens up a roster spot. Is that the only one or are there more? I don't follow the off season as close as some here.

We have commitments from two junior college transfers who are eligible to play right away: point guard Daniel Dzierzawski and shooting guard Lucas Antunez, who could also play point guard.

Two 6 ft ish 160 lbs virtually unknown point guards. Not impressed. 2016-2017 season could be a train wreck.

20+ wins. We almost did it w Mosely and two frosh starters. Navigato will be much stronger and Knapke/Taylor will soften the loss of Booth. Dzoewdzfavni looks to be at least Stuckey's equal and We'll have a much better perimeter game. Defense, as always, the wild card but this train will chug into the MAC station in good shape.

I think Sanford and Navigato have some serious upside in their soph years where Mosely really made some errors late in games, the Detroit game comes to mind. Mosely's points in the BG game were probably the difference but not much impact after that.

RE: Nick Rogers Transferring
I would prefer to still have mosely in the program, but next season won't be a train wreck. We have 4 solid seniors in jonjon, lauf, Taylor and garber. Two good young scorers in Sanford n Navigato, one of whom I expect to break out. One of our best big men prospects in a while in knapke and 3 interesting guard recruits dzierzewski isn't a pure prototypical pg but he comes in w a rep as a gamer. He single handedly took down one of the favorites in the NJCAA tourney. Antunez is a clever playmaker. 6.3 and the son of a pro baller. He probably won't be a star but may be more of a spark off the bench at pg as he can create plays w the pass and plays fast and eyes up, where as Rodgers was more of a speedy head down player. Roberts is short but can really shoot. Son of a pretty well known chownA little under recruited because of a HS knee injury. It seems like coach k took the approach of making sure he got a committee of guys who can create plays w the ball in their hands w this class. I don't know if any of them scream greatness, but I'm glad we got guys w some extra experience who know how to play the game.
