Ray it's NOT the right decision when there's a complete lack of due diligence. A reasonable person would have looked for community support BEFORE you make a terminal decision. Unless of course there was another agenda......

Again this will be revisited for decades in management and leadership classes

That damn Ray is a piece of work! Just for once I would settle for something like "Well hind sight is 20/20 and more and more it looks we should have handle that differently but as President I made an unpopular decision and I'll spend the remaining years of my presidency
regretting that I had to make it." Something that shows he's aware that he **** up royally at that. Acknowledging the mistake is not going to get him fired....hell at this point he could do almost anything short of a class 3 felony and still collect his $800,000/yr salary.

This is an interesting little clip. Forget for the moment the lies about lack of community support and doing the right thing and tough decisions (all clearly pre-programmed talking points). A little earlier than that, without prompting, he calls Mark Ingram his top choice for athletic director and praises the process that selected Ingram.

Why? Ingram has been here roughly 10 months now. Why bring this up? What could have put this thought into his pumpkin head?

Conclusion: Ray Watts is reading Blazertalk, or (more likely) an executive summary of same.

Punkin seemed pretty festive there. Way too comfortable in the G&G room for my taste.

What's interesting is that he recently acknowledged a mistake during a faculty meeting (sort of). He said something to the effect that making this decision without input in hindsight was a mistake. It's the closest I've heard him actually own up to it.

I have no idea about the press conference.

The video itself is interesting. Watts has not learned anything from this; he still thinks that killing the 3 sports programs was the right thing to do. This far out from the events of December 2014, his lack of introspection is overwhelming.

The press conference was closed to the outside public & was limited to inside people, boosters, etc.

From what I gather it was packed.
