Do you know Will personally? How can you make that statement?

That is a weird response considering the poster was complimenting a former player... And that is a pretty easy statement to make considering you never hear Will throwing teammates and coaches (current and former) under the bus.

03-lmfao I got my reasons for saying Will says only nice things about people.

But now that we're on the subject of statements about players....

I'm still wondering how you can make these kinds of statements: March 31, 2016 at 11:36 PM in the http://csnbbs.com/thread-776189-post-131...id13160491

"Shaq is not a poster boy for your ideal college BB player. Wouldn't work over Summer's as promised, inconsistent efforts and poor leadership, several players don't like him, etc. "

You just disparaged one of the few players who stayed 4 years with Pastner. I don't know if this sunk in yet, but our poster boys done left the building.

Back to Will. I've only heard him say kind, uplifting things. I'm a Big fan...followed him in Summer League, even bought the NBA package to watch all his Trail Blazer games for a couple years. Announcers praised Will the Thrill and his attitude to the hilt, but they also pointed out his out of control techniques and mentioned Memphis often enough. Portland loved Will, Stotts not so much.

And let's not forget, when it was more Pastner's doing that we lost that tourney game to St Louis 61-54, Will did a tearful press conference-- saying it was his fault and apologizing to all of us.

Will is top drawer feller. He's not going to say anything bad about a person: http://www.blazersedge.com/2012/8/13/323...life-story

I guess we can cross Penny Lane off the Whitey alias list ?

Will was a great Tiger though he was a bit of a ball hog. No one could question his motor or work ethic and he is right, players need to look in the mirror as well. We have had more than our share of players who thought they were NBA ready because they were high school studs and it came easy for them. It takes hard work to develop skills, and the jump from high school to college necessitates that players work their tails off. Very, very few are NBA ready despite the hype. We all know Pastner needs to get better, but so do the players. It takes hard work and the ability to work on both strengths and weaknesses.

That's why we have coaching to put players in position to develop their skills AND be a team. People called Dedric a ballhog too this season. Looking back with more data, I don't think ball hogging players is, or was ever the problem.

I'm done in every way putting the blame on players. This season was the finish.

Specific players got named on national TV for insignificant random moves after our losing games. Our program's record got scoffed at in an interview-- when ESPN themselves list our final fours. Our student fans were cited as the worse in the nation.... 1. 2. 3. Three strikes.

When the season starts, I'll be all in for the Tiger players and not critical of how the game is coached. But I no longer associate this man with Memphis Tigers Athletics no matter how much longer we pay him. He does not have the proper respect for players and our program. Sometimes, it appears he has no idea of the ebb and flow of the game itself.

You people that are calling Will and Dedric ball hogs must be too young to remember Dexter, Bradley, CJ, Smokey Holliman and Bill Cook. Those boas never met a shot they didn't like
