You can't try to rebuild when youve already traded two of your next three first round picks

RE: Joerger FIRED???
Very very True....I would Try To trade with Philly and try to Acquire Embiid and maybe one of their 1st round picks in this draft....I know Embiid has been hurt, but it was his foot and not his knee or lower back ok, andif he's Healthy and stays Healthy he still could be a steal and star....It was that kinda chance we tool on Marc and we took a chance on Z-Bo and they paid off....Also They need Shooters and Wings so they should draft Caris LeVert as long as his foot is fixed and thats what Medical Exams and Physicals are for, and if it is then he should be the pick....He is a really good passer with great vision, makes those around him better, and can flat out shoot the 3 ball and can be a lock down defender.....Or Maybe Dejounte Murray, but we would have to be very patient with his development but loads of potential or maybe Daniel Hamilton or a Thon Maker.....But all of those or anyone we draft is Huge Rick, with possible High Reward.....In a smaller market like we are in, we also have to be willing to take a gamble or two and hope they work out.....No Limits....The World Is Ours Memphis....

He has never had good offense players

Paul George and Monta Ellis is a potent wing combination. He turned Ellis into a spot up shooter when he could have used them to run pick and rolls, etc...

Oh my bad I thought you were talking about Joerger. I saw Vogel but read Joerger for some reason

TC,

That is stupid.

No, it's not. Grit and Grind is fine, but the West is run and gun. I might keep Gasol, but Zach needs to move on, the Grizz are too slow to keep up with the power teams in the West.

They have done a great job with determination and hustle.

Time to get some guys who can run the floor. Young guys.

TC,

Only if you like being the 5-8 seed every year. Because with Gasol and Conley as our max contract stars that's all that we are going to be. Now the catch 22 is if you do that we go back into the lottery until we draft a game changing star. The Grizz are about to get stuck in the middle.

Edit: just saw his Joel Embid post. I say keep Gasol but let Conley walk if he wants too much. If he wants to go to Brooklyn or the Knicks tell him to have a nice day

Joerger hired by the Kings. We couldn't get a pick out of it? Isn't it tampering or something?

Joerger was let go and no longer employed by the Grizz. No compensation necessary and no tampering when he is no longer under contract.

what were our options? Keep a disgruntled coach around another year and lose even more leverage? If SAC didn't want to play ball - then we had to do what we had to do

Meaning if negotiations with the Kings were so advanced they would hire him two days after he was fired, they should have just waited and secretly negotiated with other coaches themselves.

Exactly. Employees have to get on board with management - not the other way around.

I agree with this. Six straight playoffs is impressive, but we've clearly hit the ceiling and that was in 2012-13 and we STILL got swept by San Antonio in the conference finals. Z-bo is going to be 35 by the start of next season, Conley is a really good but not superstar PG and will be 29 at the start of next season and Gasol is 31. That is a really old foundation and the ceiling of this group is pretty much a five seed. The Warriors have a better AND younger foundation/core than the Grizz, the Spurs have a magic formula that has never been replicated in the league, the Clippers foundation of Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin is slightly better and slightly younger than the Grizz core.

I think it is time for a rebuild and I think that Conley pretty much knows it. I predict that Conley walks and it would be best for both sides to do so.
