It was probably crucial for CBS to team up with Turner to do this deal because ESPN would be able to offer every game with it's channels.

TBS and TNT are usually on the basic cable lineup, I'm not sure about TruTV.

this contract ensures TNT, TBS and TruTV will be on basic cable for a long time this is why cable networks can pay more than broadcast even thought they can generate fewer viewers.

Also, watching the games on TNT, TBS and TruTV requires you to find them on your system making it more likely you will watch them when NCAA basketball is not on.

TruTV is awesome. Any channel that's committed to showing Impractical Jokers for 20 of the 24 hours in a given day is all right with me.

Great point...as at the start of every tournament, I always go "What the heck & where the heck is TruTV?"

NOTE: Once you find it at the start of the Tournament...you realize its pretty convenient that on DirecTV, the Turner channels are right next to each other:

245: TNT
246: truTV
247: TBS

Championship Game was on 3 Turner Stations with different broadcasts:

TruTV: Villanova "homer" broadcast
TNT: UNC "homer" broadcast
TBS: National broadcast

I thought it was a tad biased. But what does it say about college basketball when the championship game is on a 2nd tier cable network?

Easily a first-tier cable network, on par with ESPN and USA and the like, and probably ahead of FS1 and NBCSN.

So it doesn't say anything.

Yea I guess your right. It had a 4.5 rating last...the same as the Army/Navy football game.

I get the blue-blood-fatigue. But I just can't cheer for 'Nova since '85.

My take-away from the game, and the entire tourney really...Aren't 3-point shooters a nice thing to have? I miss those guys.
