Climate change
Good read on climate change. Long article, but lots of discussion and facts. I wouldn't call him a climate change skeptic-he's not, but he is a climate change "realist."

I dont recall you asking for qualifications of the so-called 97% of scientists who supported the notion of man-made global warming.

I don't know who the 97% are. If they are climate scientists, they have pretty good qualifications.

I don't know who the 97% are. If they are climate scientists, they have pretty good qualifications.

I'm surprised that anyone still refers to that 97% since it has been discredited.

There have often been cases of people saying that "scientists" believe "X" when the scientists are in a completely different field than what they're being asked about. That's different than asking them about their own field of research.

As it is again in this article. And the author buys that man contributes to global warming. Its the extremes claimed by the political correct crowd he challenges.

RE: Climate change
If man made global warming via carbon emissions was true then why did they change it to "Climate Change"? Climate changes are
naturally occurring cycles. I swear we could a giant asteroid heading out way and people when blame it climate change.

Well all that carbon is holding in matter from flying into space, increasing gravity and drawing in giant asteroids!

RE: Climate change
Climate scientists allowed their field to become politicized. When people at the top became political animals, the rank and file put their heads down and just went along with the program. I have zero trust in the field until their is a rebellion and a house-cleaning.

Scientists from other fields also joined on the political bandwagon. Just because a linguist or a botanist signs a newspaper ad in outrage doesn't mean he/she actually understands climate modeling any better than I do.

That said, we should be doing whatever we can to make common sense efforts to limit our environmental impacts. Even if climate change is completely false...its a good idea.

But the door swings both ways. Many liberals hate Monsanto and their GMO seeds. Some liberals still wrap their cold fingers around the myth of the vaccination/autism link. From the "some memes die slow" department, the City of Portland (OR) has defeated fluoridation proposals for decades.
