I think it is pretty clear that Coach Montgomery can spot talent. Keeping it on campus has been a different matter.

Too bad he has not been able to stick anywhere. The Nader thing though I will never ever blame Montgomery for that. Getting rid of Nader was the best thing to ever happen to this program. He was not going to be successful here

Usually it probably ends up being a black eye to transfer. It would convey a sense of instability and immaturity to me

I mean, we are dealing with college students. Instability and immaturity are standard features for many. Working through that is a big part of that stage in life. Hard to hold being a college student against a college student. But, people nothing if not webs of goofy biases.
And we're talking about a whole bunch of individual choices. I wouldn't presume a person is immature for recognizing that they're in a situation that isn't working for any number of reasons, that they have the ability to change their circumstance in a way that will be more satisfying to them, and stepping out and doing it.

10 years ago? Sure. Now? Not really, part of the game.

RE: Springs on the move again
over 700 D1 players transferred in 2015 and this year the number may approach 800......that is out of 4500 scholarship players which is close to 20% or nearly 1 in 5.......thus, the average school loses 2-3 every year.......
as far as Springs, he is GRADUATING so free to go anywhere and play right away so makes sense he will trade up....good for him but too bad he was immature when here.
