Money is likely a factor, but I also have to wonder if it is hard to get someone to come in when the HC is potentially on the Hot Seat.

Didn't hurt in getting what many think is an outstanding OC. I know Grimes came in large part because his son is coaching here. He (OLC) did also list he wanted to work with TT.

Maybe Taylor is here because he believes he might be in a coach-in-waiting position once Tubbs takes off.

I was in Lexington over the weekend, and I was watching their local news. During the sports segment, they had a one on one interview with Mark Stoops. They were discussing his new coaches. It seemed to me that Stoops, and the reporter were going out of their way to OVERSELL the credentials of Gran, Hinshaw and Clink. Seemed to me like Stoops was laying on pretty thick on how great they were. My guess is the Lexington natives are NOT happy about the selection of a couple of lowly former Bearcat assistants, and he was trying to win them over.

I wouldn't be. UK is a P5 program. Granted, not one of the top tier programs, but still. Where did they grab three assistants? They grabbed three coaches from a G5 program that had a lackluster year. They hired a secondary coach who has never had a ball-hawking secondary. They hired offensive coaches who put up a lot of yards, but had trouble putting games away and managing them.

There have been rumors around the NCAA since he was at Texas Tech that Tubby doesn't have a warm and fuzzy rep in the coaching classified section due to being a hard guy to work for.

When you struggle to find quality people because they don't want to take the chance of being run off, you settle for crossing fingers with Grad Assistants and getting guys in between NFL assignments.

We hired a cult of personality living off of a couple of seasons two jobs ago who thinks he can win with reclamation projects and futures bets on GAs. Aint' working so far.

The in-game telecast literally switched a camera onto Tubby with a little commentary between plays right as that happened. Caught the TV guys completely off guard.

I am going to have to say no on this. He was elected head of the coaches association, pretty sure that means he is well liked and respected. There is always a ton of turnover in the assistant ranks, nature of the beast, those guys are nomads unless they work at a select few schools. I don't think CTT has done a good job here, but some of the stuff attributed to him on this board is just silly.
