We got Tristan back quicker than expected (5 weeks vs. 6 - 8 weeks); let's just hope Parthasarathy and Warren are not out for extended periods. We have certainly felt the loss of Jackson on our pitching depth and quality.

Looks good to me! I could see TCU tripping up in their regional too. Ole miss and UH aren't pushovers. Let's keep winning and make this happen.

Oh, the disbelievers...

Rice is trending upward. RPI is good, metrics are getting better, projection is strong, great NC SOS (1).

Brandon Nguyen @g1BTrain51
@KendallRogersD1 Part of me is surprised Rice is hosting. Probably due to their RPI and SOS, correct?

My guess was someone from Arkansas. Remember, they were the ones who were caught on video chanting "overrated" toward us during the Selection Show last year, and they're currently sitting with a #132 ranked RPI.

Wasn't that Okie State?

Fun fact. It was OK State. And if I recall correctly, the speaker was too modest. He asserted that Rice was the most overrated team in the country. But, in fact OK State was the most overrated team. They hosted and went 0-2. At least we made the regional finals.

Texas Tech might be a national seed over TCU before too long (Tech beats Florida State today, TCU loses to UTA).

Weren't they something like 18-2 when we swept them a couple years ago on the road?

You must be thinking of someone else. We swept FAU in Boca Raton last season when they came in 17-7 in C-USA and 36-11 overall.

I will note that this season FAU may already have 22 wins, but the only Top 25 caliber team they've played is Florida, who beat them. They do have two wins over borderline Top 25 Mississippi State. Otherwise, their schedule is underwhelming; WarrenNolan.com has their strength of schedule currently at 107th in Division I (and 154th strongest non-conference schedule).

I think it was FIU two years ago in Miami. They had only a couple losses heading into the conference opener, and we swept them on the road.
