As a veteran I can promise you I'm happy these kids are doing what they're doing. I'm happy when right wingers go around on campus talking up their concerns as well. That's what college is for. It's what free speech is all about.
I don't get why the right is so disdainful of anything that it doesn't agree with. It's either fear or hate or something. Twisted.
Why is it that the liberal left is doing all they can to stop free speech on campuses and elsewhere?
Touche, though I'd argue it isn't all of us. Some of that stuff my fellow lefties are pulling off makes me cringe. You don't change minds by shutting up other people. You change minds by giving them something better to believe in.

I'm as patriotic as the next son-of-a-***** but that doesn't mean I need an American flag draped on everything every second of my life.
Also, these flagpole jackasses almost never take their damn flags down at night but tell all of us how unpatriotic we are.
Bravo sir.
PS. I leave my flag out at night, too. I shouldn't, but I do. My father does too, and he spent nearly half a century in Army (26 years active duty, 20 in civil service afterward). In fact, the only guy I can remember taking his down was this dude who'd get up every morning and run it up the staff, give himself honors (we could hear him across the lake hollering orders to himself (attention, present arms, order arms) and then reverse the process at 5 p.m.
He'd also march himself around a lot and hold a lot of formations with trees. He wasn't dangerous, but he had some ghosts.

I leave my flag out at night as well, but it has a light on it so I think that doesn't make me an ahole.

That's fine. I dare you to go to UCB and bring up conservatism.
