Hottest of Hot Takes on Nova/Oklahoma

"But that doesn’t change the fact that the game was significantly impacted by shamelessly long television timeouts during the NCAA tournament and the inability of the NCAA to find a way to avoid stacking those TV timeouts on top of each other."

Largest margin of victory in the history of the Final 4 and its due to TV timeouts?

Rob Dauster just produced the hottest take in the history of hot takes.

it didn't have an impact on who won the game- but he's right- that rule absolutely needs to change. Just 1st timeout of 2nd half needs to be like all other timeouts within 30 seconds of a tv timeout- it becomes the tv timeout.

RE: Hottest of Hot Takes on Nova/Oklahoma
I've been saying it for years, and now hearing coaches talking about the style cements it...it's not the same game they play all season. Personally, it boils my blood how it's so pervasive, the media stoppages, and I can't disconnect the hypocrisy of these student athletes' performances being interrupted so others can cash in off it.

It's like "please hold it, guys, so we can make some money. You understand this is how it works, ok?" Enough already. Let them play.

You do understand the rules are the same during the season. I think the timeouts may be a smidge longer- but just stop with the it's not the same game they play all season. Because that's a load of bunk...

They really have messed with the tournament this year. It changes momentum and degrades the viewing experience.

Oklahoma lost by something like 290 points. No number of television timeouts at any length was going to save or sink the Sooners. This is embarrassing.

RE: Hottest of Hot Takes on Nova/Oklahoma
College basketball--as far as I can remember--has used the coaches' timeout/TV timeout system forever. And college bball games have been--for the past 30 years, two hours long. About 50 minute 1st half...about 15 minute halftime...about 55 minute second half. It sure is frustrating when those commercial timeouts and coaches' timeouts butt up against each other giving you 4 minutes of commercial with only 30 second of bball...but it's not something new.

College football, on the other hand, has gotten longer and longer. I don't think I watched a PSU game this fall that happened in less than 3 hours. Every game is 3:15 or longer...and that's without OT.

The college bball product has flaws but it's not the timeouts or length of game. http://www.businessinsider.com/jay-bilas...ter-2016-3 (Jay Bilas's solution) College football has flaws related to length of game...and it is losing it fans (in stadiums and in front of TVs).

You're right, Nova should have won by 50+. Those darn timeouts.
