Was hoping for UAB before the BOT. Charlotte has potential. We are 0-3 vs. ODU so not a rivalry although there sure seems to be dislike (likely fueled by CAA MBB).

Georgia st/Georgia So-no one for now. I think definetly regional CUSA schools like the F_U schools could be competive fun series
LaLa/ULM-La Tech
Troy-UAB
South Al-no one for now but I bet UAB or even southern miss could become heated rivals
Texas state-UTSA
NMSU-new Mexico/UTEP
Idaho-historically it has been Boise state and wazzu

I can't speak for the ULX fans, but Louisiana Tech fans, especially the younger ones, do not consider FB games with the ULXs rivalry games. Tech holds winning streaks of 6 games against @ Monroe and 8 games against @ Lafayette, as well as leading the all time series against both ULXs by a substantial margin. Most rivalry games are more evenly split in outcome. Neither school is currently on Tech future schedules. It would be hard to argue Tech/ULX are football rivalry games. Personally, I would like to see Tech play them regularly.

Not enough games played yet but ODU would be a fun rivalry. From CUSA: Marshall, MTSU, ODU, UNCC and WKU would make for some good rivals. From the MAC, I'd go with Ohio after the Camellia Bowl. As others have said, ECU out of the AAC would make a lot of sense.

I didn't think about Ohio. That was a really chippy game, and we all remember the halftime theatrics those Bobcats players pulled with our fans.

We have a lot of dislike for them for a first matchup ever.

I don't understand why school don't want to create long term series with at least one program. It's builds fan interest much greater than play a school two times then not seeing them again for 10 years. I'd much rather play a nearby CUSA team every year compared to bouncing around.

As for G5's, the first OOC rivalries to come to my mind are the service academies and Troy/UAB.

We actually have to play them for it to really count. We have a series with USM. We had one with UAB but that went away with their troubles.

I'm actually pretty happy with USA's OOC scheduling. I suppose it would be nice if we schedule a four or six year deal with UAB or USM, but that's just not how it developed.

The OOC rivalries will probably have to wait for next decade or so to develop in football.

Believe me, those are our biggest rivals right now. Those staffs are directly fighting each other in the recruiting wars and it's a fierce war indeed. That's one way to begin an on the field rivalry for sure.

It's not my opinion. It is the law. Thompson isn't a fan of Tech. He is the guy who wrote the legislation that YOU asked for. YOU and your school, cheaters as they are, break the law.

Not to mention that he left of a rather important part of that article. The part where he says:

"State Sen. Francis Thompson, D-Delhi, said Thursday he was not planning on introducing legislation next year to tighten state law governing how public universities can refer to themselves."

In other words....it's such an horrific crime that that he doesn't feel the need to file a bill or otherwise take any steps to rectify it.

This idiot is just another hillbilly ltur piece of trash.

What is it with you and this sick, obsessive hatred of us? Your life must be pure hell, for you to keep harping on the same, non-sensical thing. And on a Sunday, no less. Very Christian of you.

You are a perfect example of a hillbilly whose family tree is nothing but a circular reference.

I just reported him and his idiotic post to a moderator. It and he will be dealt with.

What is idiotic about the senator who wrote the legislation expressing his view?

This?

State Sen. Francis Thompson said UL-Lafayette "just needs to do what's right" and use their full name. "They just need to follow the law. They know the law and they know the rules and the regulations,"

Or this?

"They shouldn't have uniforms with just 'Louisiana' on it. They should have what their true and expected name is," said Thompson. "They need to have ULL."

The Cajun guy wrote:

Why would the law need to be changed? There is no reason for new legislation as it is pretty well covered. @ Lafayette should follow it.
"They should have what their is," said Thompson. "They need to have ULL."

That pretty much says the legislature expected @ Lafayette to comply with the law - especially considering USL requested the law. Instead you folks choose to behave childishly, illegally, and unethically. Unfortunately, the legislature didn't anticipate this or maybe they wouldn't have granted your requests to begin with. Which begs the question - why don't you folks try the honest approach and come through the front door instead of attempting to sneak in the back door?

You just can't refrain from making personal attacks. I have said nothing of a personal nature to you, but you just can't help yourself. How dare you question my morals or Christianity when you spew hatred.

So far, I have been very fortunate in life.

I do not have a hatred of @ Lafayette. I don't even have a hatred of you. You just say I do and it doesn't make sense. Where is your usual statement of Tech's jealousy of @ Lafayette? Maybe you finally realized Tech is not jealous of @ Lafayette. Of course, why would we be jealous of a school that in their 4 year golden era of football won only 14 games?

It is you folks who keep harping on the same nonsense, i.e., the name game. I just call you on it - I am correct and you don't like it. You even know I am correct, which is why it bothers you so much.

Can't stop with the personal attacks can you? And on a Sunday, no less, when I have made NO personal attacks towards you and very seldom have. You can't make a post without attacking me personally. Yet, you question my morals. At least this time you didn't call my mother and my wife sluts as you have before.

"You are a perfect example of a hillbilly whose family tree is nothing but a circular reference" LCF

You don't know much about geography, apparently. I live in Louisiana Delta farmland country. There are a few Indian mounds around here, but I wouldn't call them hills. I assume the comment regarding my family tree is a shot at my intelligence. I've taken 2 IQ tests in my life - 142 and 145 were my scores. I have never claimed to be particularly bright, but I believe those scores are above average.

Are all @ Lafayette grads as self righteous and arrogant as you?

So, you want to send me to the principal's office. I don't think I have broken any rules, and you are the only one (maybe other Cajuns) that has given me neg rep (apparently as much as allowed because my rep has suffered since the last time I noticed - I'll check later as I don't want to unfairly say it was you when maybe it wasn't). Anyway, I don't think I have broken any rules. You may have, however, as you have made a few personal attacks in this very thread. I assume personal attacks are against the rules. Wasn't it your personal attacks against many posters that caused you to finally be banned from BBB? The moderators were extremely patient with you as you made personal attacks for months before you were finally banned.

As an alumnus of ULM, it is deeply offensive that Cajun posters refer to their school as UL and/or Lafayette. While ULM has followed the law and embraced ULM as its moniker, that does not imply that ULM alumni support ULLs attempt to usurp the UL and/or Louisiana name. ULM is very much against that, as all Louisiana state school's alumni are. Since ULM is a member in good standing of the SBC, it is disrespectful for ULL posters to portray themselves as UL and/or Louisiana on this board. I'm surprised the mods allow it.
