Yes surprisingly good crowd - bring some warm clothes if you come to one. For our 1st game & MSU's 20th for the season, we played much better than I thought we would. We've got a couple of players who seem to know what skates & hockey sticks are for. Some guys trying to get comfortable on the ice & learn the sport. Early on passing skills weren't there but improved during the game. We played aggressive & offensive we got the first penalty of the game & the guy seems like he going to be one of those Gerome Bechard (sp) from the Bham Bulls type enforcers. Overall I think we've a good team to work from but many rough edges. MSU had a couple of women that played & they did ok on the ice - that surprised me bit in that women were playing w/ men in this sport but they played ok.

I was at the game. Extremely well attended. Alabama plays in the main rink of the Pelham civic complex and we go the one next to it, which is about half the size of the main rink. People were looking through windows, standing on staircases just to watch. MSU Also brought a pretty good crowd. Fellow students stood next to the glass and pounded on the glass with every hit. It was one of the most amazing UAB sports atmospheres I've ever witnessed. Amazing game!

Any idea when the next game is?

Was either team playing with a goalie?

Yes. Two goalies were used in the contest.

I really wish they had used the main rink. To say that they underestimated our fanbase would be apt. Any idea when they'll play again and who?

What is the seating capacity of both rinks?

That was a very high score. I can see why someone might ask if goalies were used.

Both goalies had some nice stops but let some easy ones through
Overall very entertaining and well worth the price of admission

From what I got from Elliot Brindley was that this was our 1 & only game this year so we've a undefeated season. He said they're looking to fill out a 10-12 game season in the fall/winter so will be something to pass football season with.

Thats pretty cool. I'm not a hockey fan but I'd enjoy following the team in a season with no football. Hope it happens.

The main is 4,000

I was there with the family and I must say that was one of the best times and best atmospheres I've ever witnessed at a UAB sporting event, and I've been a season ticket holder to basketball and football since day one and go to many baseball games as well. Doing some quick math with the seating in the smaller rink and a little guessing I would say we EASILY had 800-900 there. The bleachers were completely full, and the students, who were REALLY into the game encircled the ice and they had seats set up outside the main seating area where people could look through the windows. That seating went two deep. There was also a staircase at one end of the arena that had a small landing at the top and the stairs and landing were full of people. The fans were really into it and we put Miss. State fans to shame with our cheering and volume. Those guys played their arses off!!! There were a lot of goals scored but there were also some really nice stops and several BRUTAL checks into the boards. Our #11 is big enough to go bear huntin' with a switch, and he really popped a few guys. With a score of 11-10 some may look at that and make a joke, but like anything I guess, if you want to find something to criticize you'll find it. Our fan based is really good at that, which is really a shame. I am really looking forward to the 10-12 game season next year. We all need to get behind this. It was very entertaining and a fun night out. Go Blazers!!!!

It was fun banging on the glass. That place was getting rowdy. I'll be there for the next one, you can count on that. That was probably one of the most hype student experiences I've had so far.

Please don't bang and hang off the glass next time. Break it, and that's how we aren't invited back to that facility again. Try to act like an adult.
