I already posted this on the AAC board but I don't think that UC will be a top 25 team next year because of our lack of depth. After our starters, we will have almost nobody.

Best 3 players are back. Talented big in place to take over for Ellis. Another season where fans should expect a leap forward (though depth worries me). Hoping it won't be the disappointment this season was.

I'm inclined to agree with your assessment. Close losses this past season could turn into victories if Washington can hold on to the ball in the low post and score or draw the foul. We watched many of those passes go through the hands of our center this season and were only a couple of buckets from a much better season and seed.

I do expect (hope) that Mick pulls a rabbit out of his hat with a credible transfer or late signing because quality depth is a major concern in my mind too.

+1. Hopefully Kyle Washington is more like the guy we have been hearing about from practice and not the guy who only scored six points and grabbed four points for two years at NC State. We are also going to need contribution from Tre Scott and Nysier Brooks.

Think we still need two significant players this spring or summer.

Yep. I think we need a quality big and a combo guard. Basically, we need to find a combo like DeBerry and Cobb for next year's squad to get to the next level. If we don't pick up anyone and Cumberland and Brooks don't come in ready to play 20+ minutes from the start, I think we're looking at another season on the bubble.

Starting 5 could be the best of the Cronin era. Should have beat PG and best big man in the conference.

Bench is a concern. Add a couple of guys that can contribute right away off the bench and they can be very good.

High expectations are better than expecting mediocracy. Might as well take up

We're really going to miss DeBear. He gave incredible minutes off the bench that we no longer have. If Washington gets in foul trouble we're hosed.

Way too early is right.

Heck, we had fans calling an Elite 8 or Final 4 run this time last year. The world is our oyster.

The only poll that matters is the final one for the season...

This is my biggest concern too. We all know there will be games where Washington picks up a couple of fouls early in the first half--it's just the nature of the game. DeBerry had become an excellent role player in those situations and brought a different skill set offensively when he stepped in.

Troy is smart enough to stay out of foul trouble but with the coaching staff's reluctance to use Jenifer in critical game situations this season, depth across the board must be addressed this offseason.
