Yes, the NIT is a meaningless tournament for losers, but still can't help but be happy. This team was good. Those are some good teams they beat. I watched them play St. Joseph's in the A-10 tournament and they were close to winning that. If they did they would've been in the NCAA.

Very happy for them. Some good players on that squad. And they brought DC a championship dammit! May not be huge, but gotta start somewhere. Way to go Colonials!

It was a nice tournament for them. Made the A10 look good. Glad they won.

Good showing by the NON-P5 conferences in the NIT. 2 non-P5 in the NIT finals. I am used to seeing P5 teams dominate the NIT championsip game.

Um no. GW would have needed to not only beat St Joe's but then at least Dayton to make the tourney.

Thanks guys. It was a fun run. It wasn't the big dance, but anytime you win a 32 team tournament, that's pretty big.

---

We had our chances to make the big dance but we blew it. In some years, a team with GW's resume squeaks in the dance, some years not. No complaints here with the selection committee.

Always better to win than to lose. Shows what I know, I never bothered with GW athletics because my mom went to St Johns, so I was set for big-time college basketball. Since I enroled at GW in 1991, GW has gone dancing 9 times, ST Johns 8. And both have one Sweet 16 in that timeframe.

Shows what I know.

Very nice wins in the NIT, NIT Final 4, and the Championship!! Well done Gdub!!!

Especially like the margin of victories in both NIT Final 4 and loved the win over the MWC, San Diego State.

Definitely something cool for the area, albeit mostly meaningless.

Hopefully there is a parade here in a few months featuring that beautiful, gap toothed Russian as well. 04-cheers

What's the NIT? And how can George Washington win anything these days, the guy's been dead for over 200 years.

NIT is where your team lost in the first round

That's because the Tournament has always been stacked to get as many notable names in the finals as possible.

Why set yourself up?

I suppose it's better than NOT being allowed in postseason play because you cheated.

I watched the 2nd half. That is good team. My Bearcats won a couple of good games against VCU and GW, and lost to St. Joes. A-10 is a strong BBall conference.
