Just have to address this from BlazerMatt in the other thread...because it is an absolute lie.

Quote: You realize that Ingram wasn't even a the top 3 finalist for the AD job, right? He was hand picked by Watts over the objections of the search committee, surely you know this.

He was part of the process from the very beginning. There was an argument on whether he should be 4th or 5th in line...there was heated discussion on whether he should be the 4th pick because the thought was that one of their Top 3 may not make it through to the hiring process because they dropped out or were hired somewhere else before the process was complete....and it was known that anybody in the Top 3 could be hired by the administration.

If he was handpicked by anybody it was Frank Messina...who convinced the younger folks on the committee that Ingram deserved to be in the mix at 4, despite their reservations. Ingram was initially at 5...and Messina encouraged everyone to put him in at 4...as he was a favorite candidate of his. The top guy in the search dropped out, as many expected, and it put Ingram in the Top 3...as was also expected.

This kind of stuff should stay internal to the committee but instead we have people claiming to know stuff they don't just to defame a person. THE COMMITTEE SELECTED INGRAM. They knew what they were doing when they did it.

Get your facts straight and stop spreading garbage.

Insider knowledge with actual detail! Golden! Thanks Demi!

That's good for Frank...but that's not an excuse for people throwing around rumor and hearsay to try and build it into a conspiracy that doesn't exist. It puts everything else being said by the same people with the same "sources" into question. That's really not what this fanbase needs right now. We need stability and we need trust. If something is really going on...we need to know facts, not rumors. We need definition, not speculation.

The more and more people cry wolf about stuff that simply isn't true, the more and more people we lose in the fight the next time something really happens. And we can't keep saying..."well, we told you so..." because of the football debacle. Just because we got screwed once, doesn't mean we can throw logic out the door.

Facts. Plain and simple. I hate demiveeman had to disclose this, but I too am tired of the blatant fear mongering.
