Has CUSA gotten a TV deal?
I've been away, did they sign anything? I mean, my god, its April already. Will be telling for AAC negotiations.

No official word. Rumors flying everywhere from some ESPN involvement to no ESPN involvement to no Fox/CBS involvement. I think we'll know soonish once Fox Sports 1 announces some of its weekday games in the coming weeks.

Their TV deal will have as much to do with the AAC as it will the Pac 12.

i.e. They are dealing with different partners and they are selling a product that has little national relevance, with programs that have no history. What was the Sunbelt deal. That is more telling for CUSA negotiations.

The current deal expires this summer. I know the S Miss AD said in an interview that the broadcast partners would announce their game selections by April 11th (S Miss was waiting on that info before deciding who would be the 2016 home coming oppenent). So that suggests that an agreement has basically been done but must be awaiting some minor details before its announced. Either way, we will get some idea of who is involved with their new TV deal when we see the broadcast selections in less than 2 weeks.

An interesting aside, the Virginia Pilot article quoted sources as saying the Old Dominion TV revenue would fall by about $500K a year under the new deal from their current revenue levels. Whats interesting is that revenue had already been cut since the our days in CUSA. Back then, the league got 14 million a year from CBS and Fox (each team got about 1.2 million a year). The latest tax documents (2013-2014 year) indicate CUSA is currently only getting about 10.4 million a year in TV revenue. Divided 14 ways, that means each school is currently only getting about $742K. Apparently, the CUSA media deal was quietly lowered after the exit of the schools that started AAC play in 2013. A 500K reduction in the current CUSA per team revenue would represent a cut down to just around $250K a year. That's Sunbelt territory and just slightly more than the MAC was getting prior to their renegotiation a couple of years ago (went from $100K a year to about $800K a year).

It's just a different product. They have been off mainstream television and don't have a ratings chart to go with any accomplishments of note. Their brand names read like an eye chart. The investment in their programs (coaches, facilities, etc) doesn't translate.

MACtion is hard on attendance, but does bring the eyeballs. Based on last sesaon's available ratings, it shouldn't surprise if the CUSA contract comes in below the MAC...assuming the contract is valued on eyeballs.

I'm still guessing FOX is involved as CUSA provides content for its' regional nets. The April 1st deadline was in previous contracts with FOX and CBSSN sports and the USM referenced this date a while back.

There is speculation that "Jack" could be included as well.

I am hearing from sources that all schools in C-USA will be getting Olive Garden coupons and for the first five years of the deal they will get buy one get one free Big Macs from Mcdonalds. If you ask me I think ESPN overpaid but hey I know they need content for ESPN 8 the ocho.

Something must be coming down the pipe because we announced the homecoming date today.

Marshall was out of carrots, so they weren't up to it anyway.

RE: Has CUSA gotten a TV deal?
Apart from Marshall, ConUSA has a big identity crisis. They should be valued at or near Sun Belt levels. I think the Sun Belt has better football brands right now. App, Ga Southern, ULL, Ark State. CUSA has Marshall and thats about it at the moment. What compelling story does CUSA have to tell right now? THis is why Banowsky got out of dodge by the way. He saw the writing on the wall.

If I was a Marshall fan I would be doing everything I could to pressure the AD and President to throw everything at the AAC that they could.
